I've been wondering about something for years, and I want to know what you think. Everybody who has watched the Brittish classic "Keeping up appearances" will remember Hyacinth claiming her last name, Bucket, is actually pronounced "Bookay". And you might also remember, that for a while on "Family Matters", there was a janitor, who everybody called "Mr Looney", but he would always say "It's "Loonay". It's French." Do you think someone copied the gag from "Keeping up appearances" and used it on "Family Matters", or did the different writers come up with the same gag independently?

Probably independantly.
I always pictured it being "Bouquet", btw. |

Of course, "Bouquet" would be the French spelling. I was just making it very clear how it's pronounced, when I wrote "Bookay".
I still think it's interesting, that the two gags are so similar. |
