Anymore info on the Ted Loseff case? Did his mother Zel Loseff pass way?

someone on the forum a while back mentioned that Ted's mother passed away. I tend to believe it, since she would be quite old if she was still alive, probably in the vicinity of 100.

no real new information that I know of. given that the case is 30 some odd years old, and that the wife has been dead for about 25 years, I doubt anything new is going to surface.

At the time of this thread's last posting Zelda 'Zell' Loseff had NOT passed away. However; Mrs. Loseff has since died in 2010- at age 101[!] (and her only surviving child died in 2014) so, unless Mrs. Loseff's grandchildren attempt to carry on her work, it seems unlikely that this case will be solved in this world. I pray that she now HAS found out what happened to her son Dr. Loseff and that justice has been meted.

She was widowed in 1945 when she was only 37 and had to become self-supporting to raise her two children solo from the time of their early teens (and her son grew up to have an uncanny resemblance to his late father).

Sad because she seemed one of the most likable individuals interviewed on the show.

Agreed. I was very sad to read that she had passed away several years ago, especially without getting justice for her son.

This case was different from most of the "family doesn't believe suicide" segments in that there was really significant evidence that Ted had been murdered. I think the popular theory that the wife was involved somehow is likely on the money. If that is the case, then she's been gone for over three decades and we'll likely never know the truth.

The wife going over to her maid's house for a few hours, and then conveniently returning home after Ted was dead was too much of a coincidence for me to swallow. Everything pointed to her being involved, and organizing his death.

I agree that with the forensic evidence, the maid's testimony, and Dr. Loseff's physical challenges, etc. makes it far more likely than not that Dr. Loseff was murdered.

However; the only question I have is what would it have benefitted the younger Mrs. Loseff's alleged unknown acquaintance/s to have agreed to and carried it out? I mean, from the time she left the house to the time she returned, the person/s was/were at risk of being physically overcome by Dr. Loseff, having Dr. Loseff escape and call for help before his death and having someone else accidently witness the assault, death, escape, etc. Alas, the only one/s who could answer that would be the one/s who carried it out.

I believe the segment implied that Loseff threatened his wife with divorce shortly before his death. I think the implication was that his wife had more to gain with him dead, than going through with the divorce proceedings. She could have paid off her accomplices with money received through whatever insurance policy he had. Because initially, the suicide scenario was accepted without even performing an autopsy on him.
