Default Any Bewitched fans that don't like Jeannie?

There's a thread like this on the similar IDO Jeannie board, so I thought it'd be nice to have it on here and see what some of the Bewitched fans say...

Are there any posters out there that love BW but don't like IDOJ? Why? What do you think BW had that Jeannie didn't?

I love both shows, so this doesn't really apply to me....but just wanted to see what you all thought.

I LOVE Bewitched, but I don't have anything against Jeannie. I haven't seen NEARLY as much IDOJ as I have Bewitched. One of these days I'll have to check the IDOJ seasons out of the library and see what happens.

An actor from IDOJ went on to co-star on one of my OTHER favorite shows, The Bob Newhart Show - Bill Daily. Plus Barbara Eden and Larry Hagman had terrific chemistry - not quite as much as Elizabeth Montgomery and Dick York, but chemistry all the same. Plus I have to admit to liking Jeannie's pink harem outfit, and I wanted to live in her bottle with the pillows. I still do, come to think of it.

I like both shows but prefer the character of Jeannie to Samantha.

I like both shows equally, they're both funny and both have great casts.

Basically I like IDOJ quite a bit BUT TRULY LOVE Bewitched, and pretty much said this, along with my reasons, on the IDOJ bd.

Turnabout is fair play so....thanks for making this thread!

I like IDOJ, but I can only watch it in small doses. I don't know why that is. I can watch Bewitched all the time.

I, too, like IDOJ but LOVE "Bewitched".

For me, the one major difference is that Samantha lived in the mortal world day in and day out, and interacted with so many different characters. Storylines revolved around her, being the star of the show.

Jeannie did not - until she married 'Tony', the only interaction Jeannie had was with Major Nelson and Major Healey. For the most part, Jeannie played second-banana on her own show...since her storylines were limited.

I gotta give to edge to Bewitched, but enjoy Jeannie too. Larry Hagman is just such a great actor.

The IDOJ vs Bewitched agrument has been going on since the show aired. I'll bet that once when the piolt ep of IDOJ was over (first run) one person asked the another witch to you like better?

Yeah, it just like the Ginger/Mary Ann debate...the two Darrins debate...the Jennifer/Bailey debate...etc., etc., etc.

I wonder if Larry Hagman would have made a good Darrin opposite Liz Montgomery.

I think he would have. He went from playing a klutz on I Dream of Jeannie, to an evil backstabber on Dallas. That shows he could take on just about any role he sets his mind to IMHO.

I would have loved to see a Bewitched/I Dream of Jeannie crossover.
