Angry DirecTV can kiss my A...!

This is truly is effing ridiculous! The power went off for about five seconds, and my DirectTV never came back on! Everyone else's DirectTV came back on immeadiately, and my effing DirectTv has been off for over a month! it's rediculous for a short power outage my DirecTtv never came back on! When I called to complain, they kept me on hold for an absurd amount of time,so I hang up! if it weren't for my collection of DVDs(which i am getting rapidly tired of watching over and over) I'd march right to the DirectTv center and make them fix my directTv in my room! (and also if it weren't for my fear that they might charge me an absurd amount of money to fix my DirectTV)

I told them to kiss off years ago when they tried to force me to change what box I used......... Thier box was slower and disgusting..... Not as user friendly....

They kept talking about "We will get your HD for you" and I said "I dont want that crap,I want SD like I have always had....."

I got rid ot it and havent really watched TV in over 10 years......

HD is crap garbage, SD works good enough for me.

LOL, and don't get me started on this blu ray nonsense, I'm perfectly satisfied with DVD and I still use VHS and VCR's also.

I watch TV on the CRT type of TV, these sets are much better than the garbage flat screen HD ones they're pushing on the public today.

I recently bought a CRT TV on ebay, a nice Sony Trinitron set with 20 inch screen, it's used but in perfect working condition.

I think what we share in common is a fondness for the older technology. With regards to some of the more recent technology, CD's and DVD's are OK but I have no desire or interest to invest in blu ray or buy a blu ray player.

God bless you too man.

I finally unboxed a Blu-Ray player and it's the most user-unfriendly thing I've ever used.

As far as lack of interest in Blu-Ray, you probably couldn't even use a current one with a CRT TV. Most players now wouldn't even have any type of analog output.

Agreed Steve, everything being considered I'm content with the setup I currently have. Hope your Christmas was a merry one!

I live in China. I use websites to watch what I want and pay nothing besides the internet service. I think many people are doing the same and it is easy to connect your computer or mobile device to the television and watch your shows. I am watching Fargo now. It is shown on Hulu but again, I watch it for free.

My parents have ATT, maybe it’s Direct TV. I don’t like it. A lot of time the feed will break down and freeze. Or periodically get into business disagreements with a network station and they block the station from being viewed (the last time was the ABC affiliate, before the FOX affiliate). There are sooooo many channels, I get lost on what is on. There is so much garbage that if I am home and watching it, the best shows are reruns of Everybody Loves Raymond and Seinfeld.

If I ever moved back to the United States wouldn’t even own a television. Very content watching what I like through my IPad or phone. I mostly watch YouTube anyway. YouTube has all the current news, very interesting documentaries, lots of reruns of classic shows like All in the Family and Mary Tyler Moore plus websites which have all the classic shows and movies available.

If you pay for the “streaming” services, thanks. You pay, I watch.

For home entertainment I have a combination of older and newer technology.

For music listening I have a collection of vinyl records, some cassettes, and I also have some CD's.

For favorite movies and TV shows I have a collection of both VHS and DVD. The movies are mostly on VHS and the TV shows are mostly on DVD.
