Default Jackson Five to tour in 2008 (yes kids, Tito will be with them)

Jackson 5 talk tour

(Monday November 26, 2007 06:26 PM)
The Jackson 5 will tour in 2008 with Michael Jackson, according to his brother Jermaine.

Rumours about a possible reunion of the pop legends has been rife for some time, culminating in claims from promoter Leonard Rowe recently that live dates were being planned.

Jermaine Jackson has now given the clearest indication yet that the comeback is on and will take place next year, featuring their most famous member.

"Michael will be involved. We want to tour. We want to touch the lives of everybody who's bought our records and supported us.

"It will probably start here first, but it will be sometime in 2008. That's our plan", he told the BBC in a new interview.

Discussing Michael's acquittal on child sex offences in 2005, Jermaine said the five-piece are now "stronger than ever" and "owe" the fans who have supported them through thick and thin.

The last album from the Jackson 5 - Michael, Jermaine, Marlon, Tito and Jackie - was "2300 Jackson Street" in 1989.

I have always loved the Jacksons (Jackson 5)...I grew up with their music.

I think this tour would be the smartest thing Wacko has done in at least 15 years. I think going back to the beginning (as well as throwing in some of the solo stuff as well) will remind people why they loved him in the first place. Before the skin bleaching, before the plastic surgery, before the pedophilia accusations, etc... it'd be a total back to the beginning for him and I think it's very smart. Plus next year is marking his 50th bday and 40 years since he was signed to Motown. Back to basics tours always revitalize careers, just look at Prince and Bruce Springsteen in recent years.

This should be interesting, and I agree with Dean: this is probably the smartest decision Michael's made in years!

Tito can be on the tour as long as he doesn't wear that baseball uniform he wore on the "Victory" tour lol Now that was a scary-ass sight lol

And maybe Michael can actually blend in with his brothers (skin color wise, no... ) by wearing similar outfits like they use to when they were a group.

Irene, July 28th 1984 - I'm at the Garden waiting for the Jacksons to come out on stage and when Tito walked out there about to pop out of that baseball uniform, I LOST IT!! lol It was so tight Tito couldn't move - they were doing "Can You Feel It" and Tito wasn't feeling anything but that uniform ridin' up his ass lol

OMG I can imagine what that must have looked like. sorry you had to endure that!!!!!

You know, the guy doesn't seem to dress very well at all. He walked into the music store I worked at part-time back in 1995. It was around 9 p.m. and it was just me and the manager working. We see this guy walk in with an asian looking gal and it wasn't until he asked for my assistance I realized who it was. I was shocked, not that it was Tito Jackson, but how he was dressed! All black clothes, that were tight and his hair was a fright. He had on these tight-ass black jeans with these funky looking shoes and a tight black buttoned shirt with a very awful looking black jacket. And the questions he was bugging me with...Oy vey. What a nut!

1995 was also the year that Tito's three sons had their album out - remember they were called 3T and had a couple of pretty good slow jams off their album. I remember catching their videos on BET's "Midnight Love" (wish that was still on) I wonder what the hell happened to them after 1995? I hope they didn't turn into a fat slob like big daddy Tito lol

Oh Monika, you crack me up...

He was asking me questions abt a couple of CD's but he was asking me who were the distributors of this particular CD...I was like, "WTF?" And on another CD he asked how many of this particular CD had been sold so far in our store. THE ONE BY 3T...

He asked how all these bizarre questions. What made it seem more bizarre to me is that the guy is in the music business, can't he find out that info himself? He just seemed weird. He has a home in our city by the beach but that was the first time I had seen him...I hope it is the last time too!

There's a 3T song on the soundtrack of "The Jacksons: An American Dream" miniseries, and it's pretty good. My favorite track was "Stay With Love", a beautiful duet between Jermaine and Syreeta Wright. Here's their song playing to scenes from the movie:

Exclamation

When I first saw this thread I thought it was Jackson Browne. You know, the solo artist from the 1970s (and early 1980s) with hits like "Running On Empty" and "Doctor My Eyes"! But then I saw the note about Tito at the end and I was like, "What did a guy named Tito have to do with Jackson Browne?" LOL!
