Florida was begging James not to go to Alaska and said-"James you are going to pick up and leave your Family?, do we live that Bad?

James-"Let's face it Florida, we are POOR . And of all the things that people don't want to be, POOR is one of them, right above, SICK AND DEAD!!!

She was being serious, but the whole scene was funny. I don't think it was meant to be serious. I thought you were going to mention the whole snow shoes comment again.

I can't see that scene being played out and having no one laugh at it. It was better to hear the audience laugh rather than say, "right on" and applause. He was funny and the line is funny.

That's what you call reminding someone of what they STILL HAVE. Although her smile as she said it was annoying to me. I can see if she said, "Well, it's not like you don't have a job. Some people don't even have that."

$500 a week in the 70's was A LOT OF MONEY!!!

But that was also a hard job to do. She said it because having Bradys was better than NOT having a job at all. Especially living poorly like they did. It wasn't easy to get a job, obviously from what we seen on the show, so James was damn lucky to have what he had.
