For this discussion, let's limit the choices to live-action, theatrical films (no
made-for-TV movies or direct-to-video releases). Let's also exclude serials, only feature-length movies. My choice for the best big-screen treatment of a comic book character is still "Superman" (1978) starring Christopher Reeve.

Excellent choices. My favorite line from "Batman" (1966) is when the Caped
Crusader is running around frantically while carrying a bomb with a lit fuse ...
