Post Jinny's Father

I just read the US Magazine article which stated that Alex Rocco, who played Jo's Dad on FOL, will be portraying Jinny's Father on "The Division." Just thought it was interesting in a cool way that this will be the third tv series where Alex has portrayed Nancy's Dad.

I was suspecting that he would play her Dad after the IP aired and I'm glad my suspicions were correct! Now, I'm wondering how much longer till he comes on. Anyone have any guesses?

Good point, Leslie. I should've suspected he was somehow tied into Lifetime or "The Division" when we saw him on Nancy's IP.

I think I read on the Lifetime website that Jinny was raised by her Father and has two brothers. I can't wait to see more of her family life!

Michele-I think the family is going to be the whole key to what's wrong with Jinny, or a significant part of it. It spoke volumes about their relationship that they've been in not only FOL together, but other movies including her previous series together. I don't think that him being in the IP was so much as playing on the fact he would be on the division later on. By the way, if people thought Nancy's IP was a shameless plug for the division, at least they weren't flat out advertising the Division in the promos like they did for Brooke Shields and that movie.

Leslie: I think you are right about Alex. It sounds as if Nancy invited him to play her father on "The Division" and that they do have a great relationship. I remember him talking about Nancy helping out when his wife was sick on her IP.

Back to "The Division", Jinny grew up with a Father and two brothers who were also cops and my guess is that she had no woman role models. I think that will be the key to her current behavior. It should be very interesting to watch this play out.

Michele-I'm in total agreement with you. I remember reading that on the lifetime site and thinking it would be great if Alex played her father!!
My middle name is Michele and is only spelled with one l too. The reason being my Mom wasn't thinking when she filled out my birth certificate, but I have never seen anyone else spell it with one l too.

That is really cool, Leslie! Everyone always spells my name wrong. My Mom told me that she tried to give me the French spelling and that is why I only have one 'L'. I've secretly thought that maybe she just misspelled it or was just too out of it after childbirth to think about spelling it correctly

Also, on the Mafia Marriage thing, he played her uncle. I also know that she had a small part in the movie Just Write, which he starred in, but I haven't seen it.

I think it's awesome that Alex Rocco is playing Jinny's dad on the Division. They have really great chemistry on the screen!

Alex Rocco played her father on both Can't Hurry Love, and FOL. And her uncle in The Last Maffia Marriage.

I find it funny, Nancy always says she wants to get away from the Jo image, yet in every show she has done Alex Rocco (Charlie Poniaczek) is her father.

So far there has been no mention of her family on the show, and that includes her father. On the lifetime site for the bio of Jinny it says she was raised by her father and 2(?) brothers. In the US Weekly article Nancy said that Alex Rocco would play her father on the Division.
