Why "Laff-A-Lympics" May Not Make It to DVD Soon Enough

Hi,

I think I can hint at why "Laff-A-Lympics" may not make it to DVD so soon: The original show, titled Scooby's All-Star Laff-A-Lympics, was 2 hours long and also included episodes of Scooby-Doo (1976), Blue Falcon & Dynomutt and Captain Caveman & the Teen Angels.

Even its 1978-79 season title, Scooby's All-Stars, which was slimmed down 30 minutes when Dynomutt was spun off into his own series in June 1978, is still a bit too long for more than one complete show to fit onto a single side of a DVD.

And what's more confusing, is that the last 8 shows of Scooby's All-Star Laff-A-Lympics had repeated episodes of both Scooby-Doo and Dynomutt, and the first 8 of Scooby's All-Stars having a similar premise in repeating half-hour Scooby episodes.
