'Sex And The City' Stars Told To Lose Weight - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

The male stars of Sex And The City: The Movie have been told told to lose weight by film bosses. Producers feared their aging hunks were getting a little paunchy and so they were all told to trim down before shooting began last month.

David Eigenberg, who plays Steve Brady, the husband of Cynthia Nixon's character Miranda Hobbes, admits he was one of the actors told to shape up.

He reveals, "It's harder to be a man on Sex And The City than a woman. They (producers) can't tell the women to lose weight. They tell the guys to lose weight. They told me to lose a couple of pounds."

And Eigenberg took the trim-down comments to heart: "You should have seen me three months ago. I was fat. I dropped 20 pounds."

well, is it that hard to believe Steve would gain weight? After all, he's now married with a child and has his stroke-victim mother living with him right after moving into a new house, I think a lot of people would gain weight under similar circumstances

and not just that, it's Steve. If it was Smith Jerrod (Jason Lewis), I could kind of understand them being upset if he let himself go because he was supposed to be sexy, Steve was always supposed to be the "good guy with a big heart" love interest for Miranda.

Unfortunately, shallowness is a part of the undercurrent of the show. I've always viewed the show as a paraody and overlooked this part, which I did not like, because of the wonderful photography and stars who guested. I also love Kim Cattrall.
