I was wondering about some of our opinions on this strike issue so I posted a couple of polls to see what everyone thinks.
So how long will you wait for the strike to be over? Do you think there's important and relevant issues on the table that deserve some negotiations and time or would you end it immediately without a settlement if you could? Or do you think these issues are crucial and should be given as much time as needed to settle? |

What are the issues, besides the online residuals or whatever they are? That's the problem I have with this issue, I don't know what it's all about.

I want it over ASAP but since I know it's not happening, I'm through with prime-time television until this settles. The writers think they're sticking it to the networks by depriving them of precious programming (even tho the networks can just run to reality), but it's a double edged sword, because they're sticking it to the viewers as well.

This season is pretty much screwed. I'm watching what's left of my shows and then I'll probably do other things. I at least have some shows coming up in 2008 that are new like Jericho, Lost and the Shield. I think the strike will probably be a long one and even if it's settled early next year all the shows will have their seasons cut short. I hope it doesn't drag into next season because the viewers will only take so much.

I think the writers don't realize that the strike affects viewers more than the networks. I mean, do you think Fox truly cares that they're gonna have to pass a season of 24 up? I doubt it... because what show premieres in January? AMERICAN IDOL. Do you think CBS really cares that CSI and the sort will be halting new episodes? I doubt it'll bother them that much because there's still gonna be Survivor. Does ABC care that Grey's Anatomy and Desperate Housewives are gonna be short episodes? with Dancing With The Stars, I doubt they'd notice.

Is 24 not affected by Keifer's up-coming jail term regardless of the strike?

You forgot the option "It's not going to make a lot of diff to me, I'll just do other things, as i did during the baseball strike" (Of course, I've hardly watched a baseball game since......that was the year i really got into anime)
Besides, Corner Gas isnt affected by the strike.....I DO miss seeing new eps of the Daily Show, THAT i will admit. |

I'll pretty much watch everything I want until the new episodes stop coming. Maybe I'll catch a rerun or two of something else if necessary. It's either that or dig out the old tapes and DVDs. I'll probably be doing more of the latter. |

![]() I will be watching all the remaining episodes of the shows I watch, and have a few midseason shows, and some unscripted, but I wish the strike would end tomorrow, though I will be shocked if it ends before January at the very earliest. I'd much rather have the current shows than the filler shows coming up. I am very worried about several new shows. and I agree big time, if this affects next season in anyway, a lot of people will give up network TV entirely(I might even, there's only so much of this I'll be able to take). Ratings are already way down to begin with. |
