Default Frances Fisher

Did Anyone Know That Fraces Fisher Was The Original Person to Play Jill But Days Before The Pilot Was To Be Shot She Was Replaced By Patricia Richardson Due To No Chemistry With Tim Allen?

Yes, I've read this before. I do love Frances, but I'm glad she was replaced. I cannot picture her or anyone else except Patricia in the role of Jill.

Well, I am sure if Frances had been "Jill" we'd be saying that we are glad that Patricia Richardson was not chosen to play Jill because we can't imagine anyone else playing that role.

Im sure we would be-LOL

I heard about this in the THS on Home Improvement. You could just tell though, from the cast photographs with Fisher in them, that she was just no fitting in with the rest of the cast. I guess during the scene when Jill tells Tim not to touch the dishwasher, when Fisher said that line, the audience got totally upset with her, so they tossed her and brought in Patricia.

Yeah, without even seeing it, I can tell the chemistry would have been awful. Now, I did love the chemistry Frances had with Ted Danson on Becker, but she would have made a terrible Jill. I personally think there's a good chance the show wouldn't even had made it very far with Frances in the role.

Default Off topic a bit but...

Frances Fisher with her daughter Francesca Fisher-Eastwood (born 1993). Clint's her Daddy, (with her in 1999, below).

I agree. I don't think the chemistry between Tim and Frances would have worked out. I saw the THS too and Tim was disappointed at first when she was replaced with Patricia, but I think in the end he was happy the way things turned out.

I don't think I could imagine anyone else playing Al. Richard Karn played the character perfectly.

Definitely. Especially in the later seasons. You could tell in the first few episodes that Tim wasn't getting too close to Richard, but by the last season, Al was an essential character to the show. I couldn't imagine the show without the Al character.

Me either. I don't think the jokes would have worked as well with Stephen and I don't think he would have looked as good in flannel, LOL.
