GLENS FALLS - A 23-year-old Glens Falls man faces elevated charges after an 8-month-old infant he had been watching died from injuries suffered earlier this week.

Michael Flint Jr. is accused of choking his girlfriend's son until the child lost consciousness.

Flint told police that he hit and choked little Colbi Bullock over two days. He even told police he bit the boy's arms to keep him quiet.

Flint and his girlfriend brought the baby to Glens Falls Hospital Tuesday night. The infant was then transferred to Albany Medical Center.

Flint was originally charged with assault, but Warren County District Attorney Kate Hogan had said the charge would be upgraded if the child died.

The child's mother could be charged with neglect for leaving the baby alone with Flint.

Police say the abuse took place at the couple's 121 Bay St. apartment.

This is not flint's first run-in with the law. Prosecutors say he has 10 convictions -- the most recent for brutally beating a dog.

After the judge set bail at $100,000 Wednesday, Flint was led out of the courtroom in handcuffs, telling a reporter, "I should die for what I did to that little boy."

The district attorney says Flint has been violent toward women before, but never to children.

Yup.....I knew a guy who used to hurt animals all the time, i once saw him shoot an innocent cat with an arrow (I soon after stopped talking to him)....Last i heard, he'd spent time in prison for beating his wife

Because there physco and probley drugs has to do with that stuff to . but he had no right to do that to the baby the baby was only 7 months old the guy should die also he has no right to live... people like that need to be in hell. sorry for my language but people like them make me mad!

I agree. the Jerk needs to DIE! I have to read the news to see if they updated on the case. I read that this morning and I thought that was gross. and sick. If they are any new news about it i will post it on the thread on here.

Accused baby killer says he's sorry

QUEENSBURY - The man accused of attacking a baby who later died of his injuries says he's sorry.

Twenty-three-year-old Michael Flint was arraigned Thursday morning for assaulting 7-month-old Colbi Bullock. The baby died Wednesday night at Albany Medical Center.

Flint is charged with first-degree assault. The district attorney will tell a grand jury Friday why that charge should be elevated to murder.

Police say flint hit, choked and bit the child over a two-day period at the apartment he shared with the baby's mother, 22-year-old Alicia Lewie.

The mother came home to find the baby had two black eyes, bruising on the side of his head and a fat upper lip.

Flint originally claimed he dropped the baby in the shower.

However, after court Thursday he expressed remorse, saying he would see Colbi in heaven and was more sorry "than anybody could ever know."

The baby's mother is also facing charges. Lewie is accused of reckless endangerment for not reporting the attack on her child.

Lewie says Flint had beat her in the past and was worried he would attack her or further hurt her son if she called the police.
