Default 4 wks in a row, All Fresh Prince on N@N overnight. WHY?

They don't even squeeze in a 4 a.m. DWomen or anything else for that matter. It's all Fresh Prince overnight, 4 weeks in a row. Not to mention that they play it twice or more during Prime Time. Why are they doing this? Is this permanent? Why don't they just cancel Home Improvement and George Lopez and make it ALL Fresh Prince? I'm sick of it. I hate Nick at Nite!! Sorry to b. about it but I'd say the same regardless of what show it was they were beating like a dead horse. Enough already. There are HUNDREDS and HUNDREDS of tv shows out there. Thousands even. They act like Fresh F. of Bellaire is "all that" and maybe a couple of others and that's it. I wish that lousy network would get their s. together. Sister station MTV is no better with their "America's Next Top Model" crapathon for like 15 hours in a row every weekend.

I've pretty much given up on Nick at Nite. It used to be such a great channel that I would always have on at night. Heck, sometimes I'd put a blank tape in, record the whole night and watch it during the day, too (however, I don't have those tapes today. I didn't know).

I've moved on to DVDs. I have a large collection of TV shows on DVD. I currently don't even have my cable hooked up. I only do when USA airs new episodes of "Monk."

I miss the days of the old shows on Nick at Nite. However, what I miss even more is their variety.

It is absolutely ridiculous.

The only way to save N@N is if somebody from this board gets a high ranked job there and changes it themselves...

LOL!

Is The Fresh Prince THE highest rated show Nick at Nite has ever had?

I swear, there is no possible way every airing of this show can be highly rated. There's only 6 seasons of it, and it's been airing about 12 times each night for the past 4 weeks. There is no way people can still be entertained from this. It's just impossible.

Makes me wonder why shows like Cosby and Roseanne, both way more highly rated than FP in their original runs, aren't even on the network.

thank you for pointing that out. A lot of younger people are led to believe that Fresh Prince was this Cosby sized blockbuster in it's original airing and it wasn't, I remember not long ago arguing with a younger poster here who said there was no way in hell that Designing Women (which failed on N@N, tho is doing okay on TV Land, ran for 7 seasons and was top 10 for two years) was a bigger ratings hit in the 90's than Fresh Prince, when it was in fact the way it was.

Granted, I don't believe ratings make shows good or bad, but I honestly wonder if Will Smith didn't become a huge movie star, if Fresh Prince would be all that much bigger in present-day reruns than Blossom, Evening Shade or Major Dad, three shows that were reasonable hits (I know Major Dad went #11 one season) in their original runs in the early 90's but now are nowhere to be found.

Yes, Fresh Prince was only a top 20 show for 2 seasons. I think the highest it reached was #14 during it's third season. But, by it's sixth season, it wasn't even in the top 50 anymore, whereas Cosby and Roseanne (with the exception of Roseanne's ninth season, of course) were always top 20 shows. Both have never been out of syndication since they got off the air, becoming huge hits on stations like TBS, WGN, and local syndication before coming on NAN. Fresh Prince, on the other hand, I believe was never much of a hit in syndication, and was on TBS briefly before coming to NAN (and coming back to TBS), but is now something of a god to the people at NAN. It makes no sense.

I know people here before have said it does well because it appeals to a younger audience who are just discovering the show now. Still, what kids are up at 4am watching FP? Plus, even kids don't watch 1 show for 4 hours every night. It makes no sense.
