Classic U.S. sitcom BEWITCHED is set to be remade for modern British audiences.

A pilot episode of the 1960s show has been given the green light by bosses at the BBC, which hopes the series will be a comedy ratings hit.

In 2005, the show enjoyed a revival when it was remade into a film starring Nicole Kidman as Samantha the witch.

It could never, EVER compare to the greatness of the old show. Some things are just better left alone (the movie is exhibit A).

I bought the movie on DVD a month ago --it was on sale. I've been so crazy busy @ work I haven't had a chance to watch it yet I take it you didn't think too much of it.

While I think it's nice the show is being remembered by new efforts, you are probably right in your take that nothing is likely to compare to the original. Unfortunately, this is the way these things tend to turn out.

well all i could say is why? why come up with a remake and make it all british? its like that american version of faulty towers- cannot remember the name of the show- which dissapeared after a few episodes

I agree. Why not just air reruns of the real show..

Liz Montgomery never wanted to do a Bewitched reunion or remake. She felt they could never top what they had already accomplished - and I think time has proven her right.
