Default Jack Nicholson Upset At Losing Joker Role

Legendary actor Jack Nicholson is "furious" he wasn't asked to reprise his role as The Joker in upcoming Batman Begins sequel The Dark Knight.

Nicholson, who played the villainous role in 1989's Batman, is upset he was passed over in favor of Heath Ledger in the follow-up to 2005's Batman Begins.

He tells MTV, "They never asked me about a sequel with the Joker. I know how to do that. To be candid, I'm furious."

Well, since the whole idea of the new Batman(begins) series was to purge the old and make it all new, i cant imagine why hed have thought they'd ask him back...not to mention, this is supposed to be the story of the young Joker!

Health Ledger is going to make the most ****y Joker! He's a ****y actor to begin with! That role is classic and it belongs to Jack, he made the Joker! I'm really pissed about the whole thing.

i wasn't the least bit impressed when heath ledger was chosen out of all the actors to play the joker. as for jack, he's like 60 something and whilst he did a great job as that character in the 1989 tim burton batman film, i think by asking him back to face off christian bale's batman is a bit off.

personally, i would've chosen michael urie instead of heath ledger for the role instead, seeing as he would've made a great joker. sorry but with ledger, whilst he is a good actor, he is not and was not made for that role

Personally, I prefer Cesar Romero as the Joker......of course, the fact that he's dead would make it hard to cast HIM in the role!

unless they manage to bring him back from the dead, which is highly unlikely. but this is the younger joker we are talking about. and this film is supposed to focus on the younger batman and the younger joker

I get that, I'm just pissed about them making this movie in general. The orginal Batman movie is classic, why screw it up with crappy actors?

Well, I disagree, I think "Batman Begins" is 20 times better than "Batman", but, we all have our own tastes, right Lauren?

I hear that. He WAS the joker.

I do agree with Lauren though, since Cesar, no one has made a role more for themselves than Jack Nicholson. I agree though, if it is a prequel, then it would be hard to cast Jack to play the younger version of the Joker, but I have always hated prequels. The only prequel that in my eyes is the best and can't be touched is GODFATHER II.

Well, the diff is that Batman Begins was largely based on the origin stories in the real comics, whereas Batman was based in Tim Burtons personal take on Batman (For instance making the Joker the killer of Bruce Wayne's parents, instead of small-time thug Joe Chill!).....I'm a purist, and I prefer Batman Begins, by a long shot! (except for having that terrible "Tumbler" instead of a proper finny Batmobile!)
