David Ackroyd first played Gary Ewing on "DALLAS" then Ted Shackleford played him on "KNOTS LANDING".

David Wayne first played Digger Barnes on "DALLAS" then Keenan Wynn replaced him in the role.

Jerrys father was first played by Phil Bruns, then Barney Clark replaced him in the role on "SIENFELD".

Also, Georges father on the show was first played by John somebody (I forget his name) then Jerry Stiller replaced him. (Jerry Stiller refilmed all of the first guys scenes for sydnication, which is a rareity)

Dougs boss, Supervisor O'Boyle, (that's what everyone calls him), was played by 2 different actors on "THE KING OF QUEENS".

Fr. Mulcahey was played by George Morgan in the pilot episode of MASH, then William Christopher played him in the show.

Wally on "THE ANDY GRIFFITH SHOW" was played by 2 different actors.

Sol Pomerantz on "THE DICK VAN DYKE SHOW" was played by Marty Ingalls in his first 2 appearences, then Alan Mellville played him in his other appearences.

Zoneboy, what I meant is when a show keeps the same character and it replaced by another actor that is really the same character, but a different actor altogether. Hope that helps..

Such as in Charles In Charge....Mrs. Pembroke is originally played by Julie Cobb, replaced by another woman playing the same character.

BTW, you could post as many as you want...ignore that comment I just made.

That part I never questioned.

Billy Jo Bradley was played by 3 different actresses on "PETTICOAT JUNCTION". Jenniene Riley was either the first or the second one (I'm not sure) then Maradeth McRay was the 3rd one.

Tina Louise played Ginger in "GILLIGANS ISLAND" then someone else played the role in the reunion movies.

Larry Hagman played Tony Nelson in "I DREAM OF JEANNIE" then Wayne Rodgers played him in the reunion movies. (since Larry Hagman was busy "doin' dirty deeds down in Dallas")

Wayne Rodgers played Trapper John in MASH, then Pernell Roberts played him in "TRAPPER JOHN, M.D."
