You should have attached a poll with this thread . . .

I preferred her more on 8 Simple Rules, I only watched Married . . . with Children occasionally, but I thought she was hilarious in it. I guess I just rathered her to be more of the mothering type in 8SR

I watched both shows, and I definitely like her better in 8 Simple Rules. She was like a genuine mother there. In Married with children she was like this silly, unreal character. I like her of more of a serious mother.

They made a few MWC references on 8SR. Such as the bit where she is eating bon bons because Peggy's favorite was bon bons. Of course, the Three's A Company references are there also.

Don't forget lazy, never cooked, hated to clean, didn't show too much love and affection towards her family, was feisty, sexy, (kind of) smart, HILAROUS, and truely one of a kind.

I loved Cate, but since I have to choose - I prefer Peggy Bundy of "Married...With Children."

Ed O'Neill was also on an episode.

Katey was a scream on Married with Children.

She was underutilized on 8 Simple Rules. It was John Ritter's vehicle but she was just as funny as John was and I liked them as a couple. They were compatible on the show. You can tell Katey was shaken by John's passing. It showed in the early episodes after his death.

It definitely showed - through the entire cast. And Katey was underutilized in the beginning, but she was at the front of the show during the entire last season. She had very big shoes to fill, and she made the best of it. She's such a great actress.

And I'm glad I'm not the only one who loved trashy Peg.

Yes, she was so underutilized in the first season. You could tell it was John's show. I swear, it seemed like Katey had less lines than Kaley Cuoco most of the time.

In the third season, the show was hers. She took complete control of it, and that's partly why I'm beginning to like those later episodes a lot.

She DID have less lines than Kaley, Amy, and Martin (a lot of the time). There's several episodes that open up with Cate going to work, and then she's not seen until the last few minutes of the show.

The later episodes were good. It was the second half of the 3rd season when it started going downhill. It became too much about C.J. Katey's whole story that year was major - taking the job at the school, and her growing feelings for Gibb. She did great with that whole transition.
