Default The Wonder Years - not a sitcom!

Why is "The Wonder Years" listed in the '1990s Sitcoms' section? It was 30 minutes, but was definately not a sitcom - more of a dramedy type thing. It had moments that could be considered 'humorous', but most of it was pretty serious/not trying to be funny.

I suggest that this show be moved to the Dramas/Dramedies section.

it's probably because it was a half-hour show. Seems like if it's 30 mins, it's automatically lumped with sitcoms and if it's an hour, it's automatically lumped with dramas. Just look at Ugly Betty, it's an hour long show and while it has it's occasional dramatic moments, it's definately more of a light-hearted comedy than a drama, but yet it's on the "Current Dramas" section instead of "Current Sitcoms"

The Complete Directory to Prime Time Network and Cable TV Shows lists The Wonder Years as a situation comedy. That is usually the first thing that I go by. It's not going to be moved.

How could you call TWY a drama? It was a comedy (maybe not your typical sitcom) but it definitely was a comedy. If your a fan of this show, and would like to see it get more attention, then leave it where it is, where it belongs.

As long as we're talking about shows that don't belong on the boards that they're on... The Osbournes. How is that a sitcom? It's a reality show. Yet it's been on the "Sitcoms" boards ever since it started.

I made a thread about "Dramedies" and I feel The Wonder Years is one. However, it should probably stay where it is under 1990s sitcoms. Now if they split the Dramas and Dramedies sections into two, then I'd say put "The Wonder Years" there. But for now, I don't see any need to move it.

I would call TWY half-dramedy, half-comedy, only because it had comedy, and it was considered by ABC at the time a sitcom. But, it had no laughtrack. Of course, it didn't exactly have all the drama either. If anything, I'd call it sad moments, not drama.

I think it should stay where it is too. I'm sure it would get noticed more if it stayed under the 90's section rather than the dramedies section.
