Default Week 7 Ratings : You've Gotta See These Numbers

The ratings numbers this week are unbelievable for The Big Bang Theory. It got its highest rating of the season. It got almost 10 million viewers. This means people are telling their friends about the show, and the show is slowly becoming a hit. It blew away both How I Met Your Mother and Chuck in the ratings.

Here are the numbers :

Big Bang Theory 6.1/9 3.8/9 in the 18-49 demo 9,675,000 viewers

How I Met Your M 5.5/8 3.4/9 in the 18-49 demo 8,867,000 viewers

Chuck 4.5/7 3.3/8 in the 18-49 demo 7,606,000 viewers

One sobering thing I must say, however, I am very worried about the writers strike. If it keeps the show off the air for a while it could hurt the ratings. Currently all the multi camera sitcoms (filmed before live audiences) are shut down do to the writers strike.

WOW! I wasn't expecting 10 million at all!

I'm glad to hear people are tuning in, and hopefully they'll come back for more episodes. I absolutely love this show!

Hopefully this strike doesn't go on for too long. I don't know how many episodes have been written so far, but hopefully there are enough to make it through December. Maybe at the start of the New Year, CBS will re-air ALL the episodes, and by the time all the episodes are aired again, everything with the Writer's Guild will be said and done.

Anyway, I'm glad to hear more sitcoms are doing well!

There are not. It has one or two more shows left in the can, and that is it.

This show has such momentum, and is growing an audience. I am really worried that the strike could stop its momentum. I hope the audience returns if and when the strike is over.

WOW! I'm completely chocked! I was hoping for 9 million at the least, but 10? I think all the Chuck viewers are slowly coming over to check BBT out. Let's hope it continues to grow.

The writer's strike is wirrying me too. Let's just hope it doesn't have a great affect on the growing ratings for this show! But, as of now, the sitcom is definitely making a huge comeback!

Not suprised to hear the numbers are rising. This sitcom, while no where near the classic sitcoms of the 1990s, is much better than all of the other current sitcoms (bar Scrubs) and I hope it grows to become the dominant sitcom of the second half of this decade. I hope it starts to beat Two and a Half Men soon.

I'll bet once Dancing with the Stars is over, BBT's numbers will rise a lot, just because all 20 million of those viewers have to go somewhere. It's already catching up to Rules of Engagement, and is doing better than The Class last season in this slot. I'm guessing this show is gonna be around for awhile.

Yeah, the only problem is too bad it will never get go on when there is no DWTS due to that stupid writers strike. This show was building such momentum. In fact, it was the only new show to reach back to nearly its premiere numbers, and now it will be forced either off the air or into repeats from this idiot strike. Really worried how this show is going to be affected by the strike.

I actually don't think this show will be hurt much more more than any other new show. I mean, everyone knows CBS airs their sitcoms on Mondays . . . it's been that way for a long time. They'll probably just pick right up form where they left off.

But, since it is a new show, I'm sure some viewers are gonna give up one it. I just hope it stays around 9 million for the rest of it's episodes.
