Music The Country Music Awards

Who's watching them tomorrow night? I plan to watch. A lot of my favorite singers and songs are up for awards. It should be an exciting show

The only thing I'm pissed about is that Toby Keith didn't get nominated for anything

I watched the country music awards last night. Yes, it would have been better if Toby Keith was nominated for an award. I was glad to see Carrie Underwood win most of the awards and Kenny Chesney to win entertainer of the year.

The only one thing I was disappointed was Reba McEntire didn't sing with Kelly Clarkson. At least she got to sing with LeAnn Rimes.

Two good things about the show: Taylor Swift winning Horizon Award and Brad Paisley FINALLY winning Male Vocalist of the Year. Carrie did not deserve Female Vocalist at ALL, but I knew she would get it. On another note, it was no surprise that Toby didn't get nominated. A while back he said something against the CMA's (I don't exactly remember what), and he hasn't been nominated since. It's all about the politics, so I'd be surprised to ever see him nominated again in the near future.

I thought most of the show was a farce, I wasn't the least bit pleased that Taylor Swift won the Horizon award but I did expect it. I also like how Brad Paisley finally won male vocalist of the year when his wife just happened to be co-host of the show.

Kenny Chesney winning Entertainer of the year again was enough to make me wanna put my foot through the screen. Carrie's wins were also expected but again I wasn't pleased. Rascal Flatts winning best group was another joke.

On the good side though, I was glad to see Sugarland win duo of the year as I have been sick and tired of Brooks & Dunn winning it. The Country Music Hall of Fame segment with Ralph Emery, Vince Gill & Mel Tillis was nice and all 3 were very deserving of the honor. The acknowledgment of the late Porter Wagoner was also a nice touch.

George Strait winning Album of the year was good and it was great to see Bill Anderson winning the award as part of the songwriting team for Give it Away. The contributions this man has made to country music are immeasurable.

Like all the other CMA shows, This one had it's moments that not everyone will agree with. I did miss a few of the performances but I did record it and will watch it again later.

I really don't see how that has anything to do with it. She also presented an award last year, so I guess that's how he won Album of the Year?

Now that I wouldn't know about because I didn't see it last year. I wasn't going to watch this year but I had to record it for my Aunt and there was nothing better on. The thing that really got me was that if I heard the announcer correctly, He said it was Brad's first win in seven nominations. That in itself is a joke as he should've won before now.

I agree that he should have won before now, but I honestly don't think it has anything to do with his wife hosting two segments of the show. For some reason, they just felt the need to give it to Keith Urban the past three years. Personally, I think Brad was most deserving last year with "When I Get Where I'm Going," but oh well. I'm just glad he finally got it.

I only watched the first 2 hours of the CMA's but in that time there were good performances, Taylor Swift wasnt one of them, I love her and Our Song but it sounds so much better recorded than her singing live. The Eagles didnt impress me too much either. LeAnn Rimes and Reba were amazing and so was Allison Krauss, I also really enjoyed Big & Rich's performance. But what made me turn it off after 2 hours was Carrie Underwood winning Female Vocalist. I like Carrie Underwood, she gave a really good preformance but she didnt deserve to win.

I agree that Taylor's performance wasn't the best, but it was definitely because she was nervous. Her nerves were coming out badly. I've seen her perform Our Song live before, and she was awesome. I also completely agree about Carrie, but I knew it would happen. Also, I LOVE Sara Evans, but she was not made to host. She couldn't have possibly made it anymore obvious that she was reading from a teleprompter.

I watched the CMA's and there was one award that really shocked me that Brooks and Dunn didn't win the duo of the year award I mean they have one it 10 time or it atleast seems like 10 times. Even thought it was nice to see another duo finally win it Sugarland who do deserve it it was just shocking.

Another thing I was a little upset with was that Alison Krauss was up for 5 awards and she didn't win a one. I just couldn't believe it, I mean her cd A hunderd miles or more a collection is really good I love every single song on there. But over all other then Big and Riches song they sang the award show wasn't half bad. I mean it was good but not great. I remember back when I was in high school (I am 25 so that would of been 6 years ago) I used to get so excited and love every minute of the CMA's, but now I just think there so so I do like alot of the nomaniees but it's just not like it used to be.

I felt that about all of the award shows when i was in junior high, (I'm 17) I thought they were great, It might have been that my parents always let me stay up to see all of it but they dont seem as great anymore.

I didn't even watch them because I just didn't feel like watching Carrie Overated gush her heart out about the awards she got.
