Okay, I know everyone's tired of the reunion fics, but since I haven't ever posted one, I figured I would... Please I want honest feedback, if you hate it say so.
Answered Prayers: The Facts of Life Reunion Movie Chapter One Trash blew across the yard. Cigarette butts, crumpled paper, and silver bits of candy wrapping flashed in the sun. Edna Garrett-Gaines stood and stared at the school that had once been so dear to her heart. It wasn’t a school anymore; it was a condemned building. She remembered all the good times that she and her girls had had there and tried to remember the last time she had talked to them. ‘Eight years ago...’ she thought. Blair was married with a four-year-old. The same held true for both Tootie and Natalie, and Jo... Jo was always the rebellious one. Always the one to go and do things without thoroughly thinking them through, but apparently she had shed her rebellious covering and had turned into a gentle mother and wife. She lived in the Bronx with Rick and their five-year-old daughter, Alexz. Edna knew something had something had to be done between she and the girls. She had never felt comfortable about the way they had left things. She knew that she wanted the girls in her life. She needed the girls back in her life. The truth was that she was scared. Scared that they wouldn’t forgive her for the numerous things she had done to them. Some, the girls knew about, others, they didn’t. For eight years, Edna had forced herself to believe that it was better if the girls didn’t know about those things, but the sudden death of her husband, Bruce, earlier in the spring, made her reconsider telling the girls. She hadn’t and she knew why. Edna snapped out her thoughts, glanced at her watch, and hurried home. Chapter Two Beverly Ann Stickle flipped through one of the picture albums she had put together for her sister, Edna’s, Christmas present. The albums all had a theme. Each one was about one of the girls. She had gone through Edna’s drawers and found every picture, every letter, every card that they had sent her sister in the past thirteen years. Beverly Ann had carefully pressed the letters and cards on to a cardboard backing covered with a piece of construction paper to make things more colorful. She had backed each picture with double-sided tape and stuck them to colorful, sometimes decorated, lightweight, origami paper. She had started the albums with the girls’ baby pictures and had ended them with a picture of the girls’ children. Beverly Ann wished that the girls could be there that Christmas to present Edna with their albums. It had been such a lonely holiday in the years since Andy had married and moved away. Beverly Ann didn’t want to feel that same loneliness and she was sure that Edna felt the same. Beverly Ann rarely had an idea that worked out with no kinks, but she was certain that this one would work and work for the best. It just had to! If it didn’t, Beverly Ann felt that both she and Edna would both die. She had to succeed. She put down Natalie’s album and picked up her address book. She flipped it open and the first letter that caught her eye was “B”. She would call Jo. And that's the first two chapters. I'll have the third and fouth up later tonight if y'al want it. |

Great so far, K! If you're expecting a long, drawn out "Oh my gosh, how kewl is this!!!" reply, yer wrong, cuz I gotta get off and call Jordan so we can plan on how to accesorize(sp?) our Spirit Week outfits, so t2yl!!! buh-byezies, lylas, and write more soon!!!

You're coming back angrily from a Sunday service because all of your family tried to convert you into a true Christian. Yeah, you've been going to church, but you just don't buy all this Holy, Holy stuff. You take a bite of your peanut-butter sandwich, which is your breakfast. During the process of angrily honking your horn at a slow milk-truck in front of you, with about 40,000 bumperstickers on it, a wad of peanut butter gets stuck in your throat. You start coughing, and the car swerves uncontrollably. You run into the milk-truck, and it turns over on top of you, spilling milk all through your windshield and flooding your car. You stay there, almost drowning in milk, until you vaguely hear sirens and muffled voices. They carefully pull you out of the car, and place you on the strecher. One of the last things you see are two bumper stickers on a twisted piece of metal left from the truck, side by side. One of them says, "Got Milk?" the other says, "Got God?" As you are being loaded into the ambulance, you use the last of your strength to give out one final cry of pain. You close your eyes in prayer, asking the Lord to forgive you of your sins, thanking him for sending his Son to die on the cross for you. Suddenly some of what the strange man up in the pulpit has been preaching clicks in your mind, and you start to weep. You feel your strength flowing from you, but you stay calm, still mouthing, "Thank you, Jesus." You calmly take your last breath, knowing that you've finally figured something out, you've given your life to Christ, and you're going to Heaven... Okay, was that too dramatic? Hmm, dunno, but I felt the need to type it, I've been in a witnessing mood lately. ?I intend to take this board for Jesus, well, if not at least one person, and all you have to do is do just what the person did in the story, that might be a real scenario someday, all I can tell you is be prepared. Well, TJ will kill me for this signature, buh-byezies! ![]() ~:.-*-. anielle:.-*-.:~aka- D! |

Hey, peeps! Sorry for not posting more last night. I just got back from drama and I'm all black and blue, aren't I, Susan? lolzies... Okay I'll post more now! Oh, yeah. Look for an unexpected plot twist with Jo...
Chapter Three Jo Bonner rubbed her eyes and turned the TV on. She flipped through the channels for a few minutes, before finally deciding to turn it off. She crossed to the stacks of cardboard boxes by the wall, found the one that said “Bedroom” and opened it, trying to find a book to read. Instead she pulled out a crocheted baby blanket and a teddy bear with blue words reading “It’s a boy!” across its chest. She hugged them both to her chest and started sobbing. Rick opened the door to find his wife sobbing holding a blanket and a teddy bear and knew exactly what it was, without really thinking about it. He motioned for their daughter to go straight to her room without any questions. She nodded and obeyed. Rick sat down in the floor beside his wife. “Jo...” He hugged her close and let her cry. Jo stopped crying and looked up. “I’m sorry,” she stated. “W... Why are you apologizing? It wasn’t your fault. He just wasn’t strong enough. Hey, how old would he be now?” Jo sniffed and smiled. “Ten months. He‘d be walking.” “And saying ‘Daddy’.” They laughed. It had been almost eleven months since the death of their son and Jo still refused to talk about it. The whole family had been through rough counseling. It had been especially hard on their daughter. Alexz had always been a tomboy, but it was never that bad. When Jo found out she was pregnant again, her daughter was the first one she told. Alexz had been so excited and had stopped staying out until midnight to stay home and redecorate her room for the baby. Ricky had been born three months premature and his lungs weren’t completely developed. He had spent almost a month in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at the hospital on life support. His sister had gone to visit him every day until the day he died. She sang to him, held his hand, and read him storybooks. The day he died, Alexz had fled the hospital and didn’t return until after the infant’s funeral. Since then, she’d been staying out all night with boys, drinking, and basically being the little bad girl that her parents had tried to keep her from turning into. Then they moved. Jo and Rick wanted their daughter out of the Bronx and into a more positive neighborhood. It had taken them over five months to find an apartment in the “better side” of the Bronx. They had moved and unpacked only the essentials to live. The rest was still in cardboard boxes. Jo was still crying and Rick was still holding her tight when the phone rang. Jo pulled herself together and answered the phone. Chapter Four Alexz Bonner lay on her bed with her Walkman turned up almost all the way. She thought Robert and her stomach turned a somersault. She grew nervous about later that night. She really shouldn’t feel nervous. It wasn’t the first time she’d snuck out of the house at night, but it was her first time to sneak out of the house to go to a boy’s house. An older boy’s house. Her mom would croak if she found out that Alexz was seeing a twenty-year-old. Not only seeing, but kissing, and... She’d gone farther with Robert than she had with any other boy. She had liked boys her age and they liked her because the rumor was that she was easy. Alexz let them believe it and actually played into the role. She’d let them do pretty much anything they wanted to do with her, but she’d never gone “all the way”. Then she met Robert and all of her dignity and self-pride returned almost instantly. She’d gotten all that back, but she’d lost something in the process. Her-- “Erika Alexzandra Marie Bonner! Open this door immediately!” No tellin’ how long Ma’s been knockin’, Alexz thought, shut her Walkman off, and opened the door. “What?” “Pack!” Jo exclaimed, opened her daughter’s closet, and started throwing clothes out of the door. “Ma, are we movin’ again?” Alexz crossed her arms over her chest. Jo looked up. “No, we’re going for a visit. To Peekskill.” “Peekskill? When are we leaving?” “Tonight. This afternoon, really,” Jo answered. Alexz groaned. “Can’t we leave tomorrow?” Jo cocked her head. “Okay. But you’re going out tonight.” “Okay.” Alexz. “Just as long as I have plenty of time to pack.” Jo walked back into the living room and mumbled, “Well, that was easy.” She picked up her book and started reading. Okay Up next is........ (Drumroll...................................) Blair Warner Stevens! ------------------ |
