what happened to donna wilkes? i saw her in jaws 2 and i thought she was great.

Producers wanted a more belivable and mature Diane for the role, and after the spring 1979 episodes aired and came back at #36 in the neilsons...NBC thought that Kristina Errickson would be a good choice. Unfortunely, ratings slipped for Hello Larry, and with only an average of 4-12 million viewers watching it each week, it returned at #52.

I HEARD THAT DONNA WILKES WAS LET GO FROM HELLO LARRY WAS BECAUSE OF DRUG PROBLEMS.

Ys, AppleI is correct. Lisa Whelchel mentioned this on the Jenny Jones Show a few years ago. Lisa turned down the part of Diane because she got The Facts of Life.
