now i may change the titles to 4 True friends (bad title i kno) depending on what i do with the story...

Season 8

It’s 11:30 on a Thursday night. Blair left for a date at 7:00 and was supposed to be back at 10:30, however she still has not come back. Everyone is starting to worry. Nat and Tootie are playing cards to distract themselves and Mrs. Garett and Jo are sitting on the couch talking. “It’s just not like her!” Mrs. Garett said getting nervous. “Don’t worry about Blair, I mean she is always ‘fashionably late‘, you can’t expect her back on time, she never is” said Jo, trying to calm Mrs. Garett down. “Yes but an hour late, it’s not like her” Mrs. G said “She has a point Jo” said Natalie as she looked up from her card game. “Look, Blair’s not an idiot, she can take care of herself.” “Yea, you’re right. She’ll come back soon.” Tootie says as she yawns. “I wouldn’t get so worked up about it. Besides, I’m tired and I gotta get some sleep sometime tonight. I have a huge presentation tomorrow, and I need my sleep.” Tootie then gets up and walks up-stairs. “Goodnight.” “Well thanks Tootie!” Natalie yells up-stairs “Just as I’m about to win, she backs out on me.” she shakes her head. “Figures. Well I guess I might as well go to bed too, I have to get up extra early so I can listen to Tootie practicing her presentation. Goodnight Mrs. Garret, night Jo” she says as she walks up-stairs. “Mrs. G, why don’t you get some sleep too, I’ll wait up for Blair aright?” “nonsense Jo, I’ll” she yawns “stay up too” Jo gives her a ‘look’ “Just go to sleep okay? Don’t worry about Blair, I don’t have any presentations or anything tomorrow, I can stay up.” “well alright. If you’re sure” she says as she gets up. “Goodnight Jo, don’t stay up too late now.” “Night Mrs. G, I won’t.” she then picks up a magazine that is lying on the table and begins to read it while she is waiting for Blair.

It is now 2:00 a.m., Jo dozed off on the couch until she heard a door opening. She slowly opened her eyes to see Blair coming through the doorway. “Blair?” she sleepily says. “What are you doing up?” Blair says sort-of shocked. “Waiting for you.” she gets up and walks over to Blair. “Where were you” she said in an angry tone. “You know where I was okay?” “No Blair, actually I don’t.” Blair starts walking away, towards the stairs as she is saying “Look, I was with Jack okay?” “Till 2 in the morning?!” she says as she walks back over to her. “Jo, I can’t talk about this. I’m going to bed. Just please, leave me alone okay?” she then walks up stairs. “Fine, fine. But I’m not through with you yet Warner!” she then rubs her eyes and lays back down on the couch and falls back asleep.

The next morning. “And so, that is why I feel that testing products on animals is harmful to not only the animals but to the economy as well.” said Tootie as she finished practicing presenting her presentation. “Tootie, that’s the eighth time I’ve heard you’re speech!” Nat said as she is getting her books together. “You’ll do great! I promise!” “Are you sure?” says a nervous Tootie. “Yes, yes, I’m sure. Now, we have to get to class or you’ll be late and won’t be able to present at all!” Nat said getting impatient. Tootie cocks her head, “I’d settle for that…” “Oh come on! We have to go. See ya later Mrs. Garett.” Nat grabs Tootie by the arm and practically drags her out the door. “Goodbye Girls!” she then looks over at Jo who has been looking over some work she had while Tootie was practicing her presentation. “Jo…” “Yah Mrs. G?” she looks up at her. “Blair still sleeping?” said Mrs. G curiously. “Yep, for the first time she actually slept through Nat and Tootie getting ready.” “wow” she hesitates “uh, Jo what time did she get back last night?” “well, she uh…I didn’t really check” “Jo…stop stalling.” she said seriously. “2:00” “what?!” Mrs. G says as she stands up. “Why?” “I couldn’t tell ya Mrs. G, she came in and pretty much went straight to sleep. Speaking of sleep, I better wake her up. She has class in an hour and a half and she takes her time getting ready.” Jo says. “Good idea.” Jo then walks up-stairs into her room where she finds Blair fast asleep. “Aye Warner, get up.” Blair stirs a little. “5 more minutes.” “Blair, don’t make me drag you outta bed. You have an hour and a half to get ready, and I know you need every minute of it. So get up.” Blair slowly sits up and rubs her eyes. “Jo, I don’t think I’m going to class today. I’m not feeling so good.”

Jo who is getting annoyed looks at her “What’s wrong with you now.” “I just, don’t feel that great okay” blair says as she rubs her eyes. “Look, we have a class at 11:00, it’s 9:30 now, be downstairs by 10:45 aright.” jo says impatiently. Blair nods “Okay okay, I’ll be down by 10:45.” Jo doesn’t respond, she just walks out of the room and closes the door and walks back downstairs to find a curious Mrs. Garett waiting by the stairs. “Well?” she says. “Well what?” “Where was she last night??” asks Mrs. Garett. “I didn’t bother asking, she’s still half-asleep.” “Oh.” Mrs. G said sounding disappointed. “Well alright.”

Meanwhile up-stairs.Blair is still lying in bed staring at the ceiling. “How could he? I just don’t understand. I thought he loved me…” she says to herself. She then slowly gets up and goes into the bathroom to take a shower.

It is now an hour and fifteen minutes later. “Blair!” Jo yells. She rolls her eyes. “How long does this girl take to shower and put on some clothes!” she says to Mrs. G who doesn’t answer her. “Don’t make me come up there!” no response. “Oh she’s asking for it now Mrs. G.” she then gets up and walks up the stairs.

She opens the door and sees nobody inside so she walks back into the hall and knocks on the bathroom door. “Blair! We have to go…” Jo yells through the door. Blair, who is sitting on the bathroom floor with tears streaming down her face faintly replys “I’m just finished up my make-up!” “You can do that in the car! Let’s go.” she says getting angry. “You go ahead Jo, I’ll meet you there.” she says as she is wiping her face with a tissue. “Your car is in the shop. Remember?” Jo says in a rude tone. No reply. “Aright lets go” she opens the door to see Blair, all dressed and ready for class sitting on the bathroom floor with tears rolling down her face. “doesn’t look like you’re putting on make-up to me.” she says, not in an angry or rude tone anymore. “You’re crying.” “No, no I’m fine.” She sniffs and then gets up, and walks over to the mirror and wipes the tear stains off her cheeks. “What’s goin on with you?” Jo asked “Nothing! I don’t even know why you would think that!” Blair starts to walk out of the bathroom until Jo says “it’s Jack isn’t it.” from hearing that Blair falls back and rests her hand on the side of the wall and starts to cry a little bit, but hardly noticable “Don’t even say his name!” she says in an upset voice Jo approaches her friend. “Blair, what happened last night?” “I can’t tell you…what would you think of me?” she walks over to the bed and sits down. Jo follows her and sits down next to her. “Give it a shot, what happened?” Blair then tries to hold in her tears but she just can’t anymore. She starts crying pretty hard, Jo hands her a tissue “Oh Jo it was horrible!!!” she cries. Jo puts her arm around Blair and lets her cry on her shoulder. “What? What was horrible?” “I didn’t want to! I swear I didn’t! But he forced me into it! There was no way out!” Blair says, fighting to speak through her tears. “Blair, what’s going on?” “Jo…I…I…was" she hesitates "raped” she whispers as she is still sobbing.

“what?!?!?!” Jo says, shocked. “Blair, I don’t get it! How could you let Jack do this to you?” she says angrily. “I told you! I didn’t want him to! I told him to stop! I tried to get away but I couldn’t! I just couldn’t! I’m sorry!” Blair starts crying harder. “Okay, okay I believe you. Try to calm down. Shh” She lets Blair cry for as long as she needs, which was about 10 minutes more. After she had calmed down Jo, with concern in her voice said “We need to get you to a doctor” she looks at Blair who is staring at the floor. “No…I…I’ll be fine.” Blair replies. “Blair,” she lowers her head a little bit and moves some of Blair’s hair away from her face. “he assaulted you. He could have hurt you real bad and you may not even know about it until it gets serious.” she said gently. “He did hurt me” Blair said. Jo looked up at her. “In here” she puts her hand over her heart and Jo hugs her again.

“I wonder what they are doing up there! They’re already 15 minutes late for class!” Mrs. Garett said to herself. “Jo! Blair!” she yelled! “You’re already late for class! You had better get a move on before you miss it completely!” “Yea, thanks Mrs. G, we’re coming” Yelled Jo. “Well get a move on!”

“We’re not goin’ to class today. We’re going to the hospital…” said Jo. “Is that really necessary?” Blair asked. “Yea, come on.” “Wait, Jo.” Jo turns back around to face her. “Hm?” “You…can’t tell anybody.” “Nuh uh, we aren’t keeping this one a secret, you and I both know we need to tell Mrs. G.” “Please, just don’t say anything until we know for sure if…anything’s wrong.” Blair pleaded. “Okay, okay, fine. But just until we find out for sure what’s wrong.” she replied. Blair nodded and stood up and followed Jo downstairs.

“Well Mrs. G, we gotta run! Talk to ya later! Buh bye” she hurriedly walked out the door with Blair behind her. “Wait! Girls! Blair I need to talk to…” “Sorry, not now! We’re late!” Jo interrupts. See ya later Mrs. G. Mrs. Garett sighs to herself. “Alright Girls…”

Blair hardly says a word through the car ride. She’s busy applying her make-up. “Ya know, doctor’s don’t care if you look gorgeous or not” Blair shrugged “Well, I want to look acceptable, there’s nothing wrong with that.” “Whatever you say.” Jo rolled her eyes. “well” she turns into the hospital entrance. “here we are. Now don’t worry about having to sit in a smelly emergency room because I already called and the doctor will see you as soon as he can and he said you can wait in the lobby.” Blair finished packing up her make-up and gave a small laugh. “How’d you know I hate emergency rooms more than smearing my make-up?” “oh,” she smiled “Just a lucky guess.” Jo then parks the car. “Well, let’s get going.” Jo said. “okay…” Blair said biting her lip. “Aw come on, you’ll be fine.” she forced a smile “Come on.” Blair nodded and got out of the car as they started walking to the front doors of the hospital.

While they are sitting and waiting Blair keeps moving around and crossing and un-crossing her legs. “Could ya sit still for one second?” “I can’t help it! I’m nervous!” Blair whines. “I have every right to be, I mean…what if the doctor tells me something…horrible. Or what if he tells me something even worse than that. Jo, What if I’m pregnant…

“Warner? Blair Warner?” asked a doctor as he walked out into the lobby. Blair stands up and forces a smile. “Yes…that would be me” he smiles back at her. “Step into my office Ms. Warner.” She walks away into the doctor’s office and he shuts the door. Jo watches the door closed and then takes a deep breath and starts to do some serious thinking. She thought about all the good, and the bad times she had with Blair. Times that made her laugh, or made her cry. She remembered the first day she met Blair, and how she got her, Natalie, Tootie, and herself into jail. Sure, back then it was horrible to be forced to live together, but now, she was glad it happened. She then flashed backed to the time when the four girls got into a huge paint fight. That instantly brought a smile to her face. She can still remember the look on Blair’s face as she sat in the tin of paint. She remembered graduation, and many other memories she had with Blair. Then it came to her, no matter how hard she tried to deny it, Blair was her best friend. Best friends don’t let these kind of things happen to one another. She should have been looking out for her, she should have tried to stop Blair. But well, there was no use worrying about that now. What’s done is done. There were much more serious things to consider now, like what was going to happen to Blair. Well whatever it was, she would be there no matter what.

“Jo? Jo Pol..polni..polni..ca..zek?” said the doctor. Jo immediately knew he was talking to her. “Yea, that would be me.” Step into my office Ms. Um…Jo.” she smiled “Sure, no problem.” she then follows him into his office and sits down in the small blue chair next to Blair. “Hey” Jo says. Blair just slightly smiles back. “Now” says the doctor as he sits down. “Jo, I don’t believe we’ve met. My name is Doctor Richards.” he holds out his hand, Jo shakes it. “Hey, I’m Jo Polnicazek” “alright well” he puts on his glasses and looks at a chart. “Ms. Warner is a very lucky girl” he says. Blair then takes a sigh of relief. “Just a few bumps and bruises. However, she has severe mental trauma, and I suggest visiting a physiatrist.” “Thank you doctor” said Blair. “I’ll look into it” she smiled. “well, it was nice meeting you both.” “likewise” said Jo. “Take care” Doctor Richards said as he left the office.
Blair and Jo were left in silence until Jo broke it by saying “you’re okay!” she said excitably. “Physically…” Blair stated Not seeming too thrilled about it. Jo moved over closer to her. “Yea but, we‘ll get yah thinking normally again. I mean hey, we‘ve been trying to do it all these years, what’s a little extra effort?” she said jokingly. “Turn Blue” Blair said as she started to laugh a little bit. “Now listen” Jo said more seriously than before “we have to get back and tell the others what happened to you.” Blair’s smile quickly faded. “Well, I don’t know…I mean if nothings physically wrong then..” “hold it Warner. You promised me that you’d tell as soon as you found out what was wrong for sure.” “Yea, you’re right. Natalie and Tootie should be home by now anyway. Lets just go and get this over with.” Blair said reluctantly.
