HBO has been airing marathons of the show the past couple nights. I loved the movie Borat, so I decided to watch this. Has anyone else watched his series? Unfortunately only 12 episodes were produced but every last one of them had be rolling. Sacha Baron Cohen did three characters each episode in skits. Ali G, the "host" of the show, a British guy who is obsessed with American hip hop culture and has the IQ of a six month old. Borat, who really needs no introduction since the movie grossed over $100 million. And Bruno, the gay fashion reporter from Austria who loves to piss off the religious right. (He's going to be doing a Bruno movie next)
Now that Sacha Baron Cohen has broken through to the mainstream, I have no idea if he'll ever be able to do another series like this since so many people will recognize him. Regardless, if you loved Borat, you should enjoy his 2003-2004 HBO series since it's more of the same thing. |
