This case took place in the mid to late eighties. A teenage girl left home around 10:30pm for a local store to pick up a paperback book, she made it to the store but never made it home. She vanished and I'm not sure if she was murdered or not and if so, I don't think they found her body. Doesn anyone know the case I'm referring to?

1) Cathy Hobbs. She was the Nevada teenager who walked to a store one night in the summer of 1987, and was found murdered shortly afterwards. The segment featured an actual recording of an unidentified man claiming to have seen Cathy's abduction. 2) Keri Lynn Nixon. She went to buy some items at a nearby store, and then vanished. Like the Cathy Hobbs case, Keri's disappearance took place in the summer of 1987, although it happened in New York (state). In 1994, a man confessed to killing Keri and led the authorities to her remains. The man is currently incarcerated. Both segments were aired during the 1988-89 season. |

I believe you are referring to the Kathy Hobbs segment, as it says she went to the store to buy a paperback romance novel. She was also the teenager that predicted her death since she was young. she never expected to make it to 16, and died shortly after her 16th birthday. |

Has anyone been convicted of her murder? Do the police have any leads or suspects?

Since I mentioned the Kari Lynn Nixon case (the name is spelled "Kari", not "Keri"), there is an article from this past June. I don't know if the article was previously posted here but I'll post it on this message anyway.
It acknowledges the 20th anniversary of her disappearance. http://www.pressrepublican.com/homep...172234546.html |
