Richard Deacon also played Mel Cooley in The Dick Van Dyke Show and I think he was in the second season of The Mothers-In-Law. I don't remember seeing Richard Deacon on I Love Lucy. What episode was he in?

Another non-sitcom actor who appeared in ILL was Claude Akins, who later starred in BJ and the Bear.

JOI LANSING: The blonde bombshell in the Florida episode. She later appeared in Petticoat Junction, Beverly Hillbillies and one of my fave shows that I haven't seen since the 70's, The Mothers-In-Law.

How could I forget Richard Deacon as Mel Cooley! He was Tallulah Bankhead's butler in LDCH "The Celebrity Next Door."
