In watching season 2, I had forgotten that Dan's mother was played by Ann Wedgeworth. She was tall, with dark hair. She and Roseanne seemed to get along pretty well and she had a successful job.

In season 6 it was revealed by Ed Conner that Dan's mom had a history of psychological problems and was institutionalized on and off throughout Dan's childhood.

Debbie Reynolds played Audrey Conner in season 9 when she got out of the hospital and tried to kill Dan.

I wonder why they changed the role of Audrey and added this saga in Dan's life.

I liked Audrey in the thanksgiving episode, she didnt seem crazy at all.
Just real sweet.
