Am I missing something in the Hollywood episodes? I've been watching the DVD's recently with my kids, and I'm confused whether he actually made a film when he was in Hollywood. We all know about Don Juan being shelved and Metro trying to find a film that would fit him. Then on Part 1 of the John Wayne Footprint episodes, they're celebrating the film that Ricky had made. So what was it? Do they ever mention it?

Actually, the only movie he went to make was called "Don Juan" , about the original "Latin Lover". The movie was made while the Ricardos were in Hollywood, but in the last episode before they return home, they learn that it was SHELVED. (Hollywood's term for a movie that tested so poorly with test audiences that it was put in a vault, or destroyed, never to be seen again!) After Ricky’s movie has been cancelled, Lucy, Fred and Ethel attempt a letter-writing campaign, as the Ricky Ricardo Fan Club. They may have looked for another movie for Ricky, but, Don Juan was the only one actually made, then never released.

It was supposed to have been made and released because of the big premiere they had in New York. When the fab four returned from Hollywood, it was stated at the homecoming party how Don Juan would premiere in New York.
