Thumbs up It's Official! Back To You Picked Up For a FULL SEASON!!!

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Fox's freshman comedy "Back to You," starring Kelsey Grammer and Patricia Heaton as co-anchors at a local TV station, received a full-season pickup Wednesday.

The network ordered 11 additional episodes, bringing the total to 24 half-hours, two more than a regular 22-episode order.

While falling short of the blockbuster status of Grammer and Heaton's respective former series "Frasier" and "Everybody Loves Raymond," "Back" has been a solid performer for Fox in the Wednesday 8 p.m. time slot, opening a night that has been traditionally challenging for the network. Last week, the series drew 7.0 million viewers.

HOT FROM FOX...

FOX ORDERS ADDITIONAL EPISODES OF "BACK TO YOU"

New Comedy Picked Up For Full Season

FOX has ordered an additional 11 episodes of the new comedy BACK TO YOU, bringing the total number of episodes for its premiere season to 24. The announcement was made today by Kevin Reilly, President, Entertainment for Fox Broadcasting Company.

The comedy also stars Fred Willard, Ty Burrell, Josh Gad, Ayda Field and Laura Marano. Created and executive-produced by Steve Levitan and Christopher Lloyd, BACK TO YOU is executive-produced and directed by James Burrows and is a Levitan/Lloyd Production in association with 20th Century Fox Television.

I couldn't be happier! I guess last week's ratings made FOX sure to give it a full season. I just hope it stays around for awhile.

Hopefully this will allow the cast and crew an opportunity to relax a little a bit and just focus on producing a top-notch sitcom. Not knowing if your going to have a job from week to week is not the best atmosphere for creative people.

Exactly! And now the producers and writers can plan out the year accordingly. (Which is basically what you said).

I don't think the sitcom was ever actually dead, but there definitely has been a slump these last few years.

I have a feeling though that this year is the beginning of the real comeback for sitcoms. And when I say "real comeback," I mean more than just 3 or 4 on the air at a time. We've had several sitcoms debut this fall, in addition to the one's that were already on.

I second that. My suggestion though - give Patricia more air time and some substantial stuff to do. So far she has been underused

My most favorite show has been renewed - Heaven, I'm in heaven
