Default How much did they make?

How much do you think Angela's salary was when she was at Wallace and McQuade? When she opened her own business? How much do you think she paid Tony?

I know there were a couple of clues for Angela. There was an episode, I think the one with Pachet fragrances, that Angela talked about a ten million dollar account and she only gets ten percent. But that was a big account, and she probably didn't make that kind of money all the time on every account. Of course the sporting goods account in Tony Does Golf was a $40 million account, and that's when she was already in business for herself. But she only had the one car and her house, although very nice, was somewhat modest if she was a millionaire. I'm thinking on average her salary was under a million a year, but I guess it depends on the year and how good business was. What do you think? Was she a solid millionaire? Or just a sometimes millionaire?

There's not much clue to Tony salary except that he was the highest paid housekeeper in the neighborhood, and he did seem to be doing much better later in the series. But yet he couldn't afford his Jeep alone. What do you think he made per year?

hi bingbangbaby,

i've often wondered the same thing. i think angela was very comfortable, but she's not showy. she didn't need big things, understated worked best for her. she always wore very expensive. but classic clothing...her favorite stores...bonwits?, bloomingdales, and maybe bergdorf goodman. she always had a different coat to go with each outfit and those coats were not cheap. plus, she always took the family on very nice vacations too. and, of course, she had a lot of investments too and who knows how much they were worth. so, as for actual dollar amount she brought in? i think you're right, it probably depended on how business was going at any given time. oh, and we all know mona took a lot from her. gotta love her shopping sprees. LOL

as for tony, i'm not sure what he made. but, in addition to his salary, angela also covered his health insurance. i wonder how much that was for both tony and sam? it included dental too(i think he mentioned that once).

Yeah, those are all good points about Angela. I remember in the episode where she got fired she was listing all her assets (stocks, bonds, T-bills...) plus she also had the big box of assets she hoisted up onto the table when she and Tony were planning a prenuptial agreement. So I think she was worth way more than she made per year because she did tend to go more understated. I'm sure she was worth millions, which I guess does make her a solid milliionaire.

I would guess that she had him on her company payroll for the insurance and things, wouldn't you think? Having him on her existing company group health plan would have been way cheaper I think than giving him individual insurance. I have no idea what housekeepers make, but I suppose he might have made a little less than we might think because he wasn't paying rent or buying his own food. I would guess those things for himself and Sam would have been part of his "salary." Ya think?
