HIDDEN PAIN

((Blair's House))
(It was a dark and stormy night. Blair sat on the comfortable couch in her home, staring out the window. She heard the roaring thunder and saw the bright lightning light up the sky. It had been excactly one month since she had divorced her husband, Shane. She had divorced him because of the way he would treat her. He would constantly yell at her and hurt her verbally, and often physically.)
B: (Thinks about Shane and the way he would treat her. All of the sudden her 13 year old daughter, Rachel slowly and quietly walked down the stairs until she got to the bottom.)
R: Mother?
B: (Turns her head to Rachel.) Oh, yes, Rachel?
R: Is something wrong? You've been sitting there for who knows how long! It's nearly midnight!
B: Oh, no hunny..nothing's wrong. (The thunder sounds loudly and lightning flickers.)
R: (Sits down next to her.) It's dad, isn't it? Or, since your divorced, Shane.
B: (Shakes head.) I don't know. Ever since he hasn't been around I've been so..lost.
R: You mean you WANT him to be here? After what he did to you?
B: No I don't want him here, I just want someone. Someone to be here so I won't be so alone.
R: Your not completely alone, though. I'm here for you, mom.
B: (Smiles.) Hunny that isn't the same at all.
R: Oh, you mean a man? Wait..I got it. You miss being married!!
B: No, not that.
R: Then what is it? I'm your daughter, you can tell me.
B: I know I could tell you things. But..even if I did tell you this, you wouldn't be able to help. Nobody could at this point.
R: (Hugs her.)
B: (Hugs her back and then lets go.) Rachel, I love you.
R: I love you to mom. (Looks at the clock.) Um..how about we go up to bed now?
B: (Chuckles.) Alright.
(The two go upstairs.)
((The hallway upstairs.))
R: Goodnight mom.
B: Goodnight, hunny.
R: (Goes into her room and shuts the door.)
B: (Also goes in her room and shuts it.)
((Blair's Room))
B: (Sits on the bed as a tear slowly runs down her cheek.)
(The next moring.)
((The kitchen))
B: (Making breakfast.)
R: (Comes downstairs.) Morning mom.
B: Oh, good morning Rachel.
R: What's for breakfast?
B: Bacon and eggs.
R: Sounds great!
B: (Puts the plate on the table.)
R: (Sits down and begins eating.) Hey, mom, guess what?
B: What, hunny?
R: I had a dream last night.
B: Oh really? About what? (Sits at the table.)
R: You..and a man.
B: (Pauses.) What?
R: You and some man.
B: Who was the man?
R: I don't know, he wasn't Shane though. He has handsome..and you two seemed to get along.
B: Oh really?
R: Yep. (She continues eating her breakfast and the school bus arrives.) Well, I better be going. See you Mom. (Leaves.)
B: (Stays seated at the table and thinks about Rachel's dream.)
(Later that day.)
B: (On the phone with Jo.) It hurts every nightt! It seems serious to me and I think it is. I told Rachel that it was about Shane and me being lost ever since he left me so that I wouldn't have to tell her what it really was. And then she had some dream about me and a man getting along because of what I told her.
J: So you lied to your own daughter?
B (Sighs.) I will tell her sooner or later..and it wasn't a total lie. It has been going on ever since he left..well, technically while he was still here when it happened.
J: Then Blair you need to go to a doctor right away.
B: (Sighs.) I'm just afraid to, that's the main problem.
J: Why?
B: Because, what if its more serious than I think it is? And you think I want to tell him that its because of Shane?
J: Blair then if that's the case you need to figure something else out. Well..I gotta go..Jamie should be home from school soon. See ya.
B: Bye Jo..(They hang up. Blair walks into the living room and then cringes in pain. She falls onto the couch and continues to cringe as she feels a massive overtaking of pain. She holds her legs as they throb and she cannot get up. All of the sudden Rachel comes home from school.)
R: Mom..I'm home. Mom? (Walks into the living room.) Mom!! Oh my gosh mom what's wrong?
B: (Cringing, grinding her teeth in pain.) Rachel..call an ambulence now...something happened to my legs you need to call them now..
R: What happened?!
B: Rachel just do it!!!
R: (Runs to the phone and dials 911.)
B: I can't fell my legs Rachel..I can't feel them....
R: Yes we need an amulance right away..my mom collapsed and she cant feel her legs.
B: (Gets a flashback of Shane. He and her get into a fight and he kicks her knees over and over again, causing her to fall over. She knows why it is happening now.)

Guys, I gotta go..how do you like it so far? I'll post more soon

R: Yes. Okay. Thank you. (Hangs up.) An ambulance will be over right away.
B: Okay..t..thanks...hunny..call Jo...
R: Alright. (Jo's number is on speed dial, so she instantly calls her.)
J: (Picks up.) Hello?
R: Jo it's Rachel. You need to go to St. Peter's Hospital now.
J: What? Why?
R: Because something happened to my mom and she collapsed okay?
J: What?!!? Is she alright??!
R: I don't know but you need to go there. Okay?
J: Yeah I'll be right there.
R: Alright bye.
(They quickly hang up when the ambulence comes. Blair gets put on a stretcher and is driven off to St. Peter's Hospital.)
((The Hospital))
R: (In the waiting room almost crying.)
J: (Runs in.) Rachel! (Hugs her.) How is she?
R: I don't know she was taken into ER. Jo I'm so scared!
J: It'll be alright Rach it'll be alright. (Keeps hugging her when Rachel starts crying.)
R: What if she dies Jo?
J: Rachel your mother is not going to die. She is not going to die okay? Don't think that!
R: But what if she does??
J: She won't!!
R: (Starts crying harder.) I don't know what to do Jo I am so scared my world feels like its been destroyed!
J: Yes because of what happened but I'm sure the doctors will help her and she'll be alright within no time. Believe me.
R: (Continues to cry without answering.) She has been there for me my entire life and I don't want to see her go Jo.
J: Rachel she is not going to go believe me alright?? Please believe me.
R: (Crying.) I'll try but I can't..I remember when I had a dad he promised me he'd stop fighting with my mom and then he started hurting her.
J: Well that was your dad, your dad was really really..uh..what's the word..stupid. You can trust me though alright Rachel? You can trust me.
(A Doctor comes out.)
Dr: Warner?
J: (Stands up.) That's us.
Dr: Well it seems like Blair's knees seriously and severely gave out causing the collapse. One of the musceles or several of them have been severely torn and damanged and we don't know if we can fix them. Those muscles are the ones that control the movement of the leg.
J: What the hecks that suppose to mean? She'll never walk again??
R: Oh my gosh...
J: Well?!
Dr: No that does not mean she'll never walk again it just means it will take a while to fix it if we can.
J: Well can you or cant you?
Dr: I don't know!
J: WELL WHOSE THE FRIGGEN DOCTOR?! (Yells.)
Dr: Mam we will try our hardest to help her if we cant it is not our fault!
J: WELL YOU WILL HELP HER I PROMISED THIS GIRL YOU WOULD AND YOU WILL!!!
R: (Stats crying very hard.)
Dr: (Walks out.)
J: (Hugs Rachel.)
((ER))
Dr: (Walks in.) Her friends having a screaming match.
Dr2: What do you mean?
Dr: She demands we help this woman. She says we "will".
Dr3: Well I don't know if thats possible now.
Dr: What do you mean?
Dr3: The muscele she wripped may not be able to be fixed. All the other ones yes. She wripped about 3 or 4.
Dr: So that basically means..she wont be able to walk again??
Dr3: The muscles were wripped seriously for a long period of time and she never cared to get them fixed. After all the moving around she's been doing they finally gave out and it seems like this one had given out and wripped permanently, which happens to be the one in the right leg. So she may be able to walk on her..left leg..I don't know about the right leg unless we could replace it which will be a dangerous operation.
Dr: So what do you want me to do break the news that shes never going to walk on her right leg again?
Dr3: No, because she may!! We still don't have a definete answer! It..doesn't look good though...
(All the doctors stare at each other.)

How is it? I will post more once I get unblocked -- lol

Guys, I am gonna be putting this on hold for a while. I'm writing my Division fan fictions "Wedding Bells"..Gosh, I have like 3 stories on hold, lol! It won't be on hold for long though. Thank 4 all the great compliments!!
