Default Ever get fired?

Has any one ever got fired? I goth fired(laidoff) yesterday but, for those of you I work at IGA a local grocery store, but they have them down in some states. Anyways he just said that he had enough of me forgetting things or saying I did it but,not doing them untill later,b cause I get busy working up front, I do forget things easily, which I have a mental problem a small one, you can't tell I have one, but, to make a long story short I have a appoinment to see him the boss,on Monday. I have other money coming in and I just need part time like 2 days. I have been fired bfore but, this time I have all these emotions that I dont know what to do with them. I know this will pass, but things will get better.

It always stinks when something like that happens. I've never been fired, but I've been yelled at before for things at work, and almost always, I've cried about it for a week. The business world is so cruel.

Anyway, don't bottle up any emotions; that never makes you feel anything but worse.

Oh No I've Gotten Fired, I've Quit, Etc...

Oh yes, it's happened to me too; lots of times. There were some that let me go cause my position was abolished; didn't need me anymore so, it's a permanent lay-off. I just quit my job at (Zellers) last saturday because I was no longer happy, fed up of the work, etc....was there almost 2 1/2 yrs.

So, now I'm back to looking for another job once again; starting all over once again. I'm starting to wonder; will I ever be happy? I'm 38 yrs. old; will be 39
in march, and I'm still not happy, stabile, secure with a good decent job.

I don't want to settle for just any job; I want one where I will be happy, and want to stick with it until I retire (hopefully) but, it's taking too long.

Any tips/advice that could help me? Anyone else in the same boat?

Thanks!!

Yeah, you're not in that boat alone. I've been with the same company for nearly 17 years and although I like the work and the pay is good, I can't seem to find an office where I'm happy and treated well. And I'm not even picky! I'm a hard worker and all I ask is to be treated civilly and with some basic respect. This office I'm at now is the worst of all-- I'm screamed at and belittled everyday by a co-worker and I can't do anything about it because the powers that be like her, and besides she has painted me out to be a troublemaker and a liar so I can't get anyone to listen to me.
I've been doing this job for so long that I can't even think about doing anything else because I'd have to drop so far in pay that I wouldn't know what to do or how to get by. I keep moving from state to state with this company trying to find a good branch...and getting hired is no problem...everyone wants to hire me because of my experience...it's just that I'm beginning to think that there's no good office within this company. I've never had the troubles with any other company that I've had with this one.
I'm really bummed that I'm 40 almost 41 and still not doing what I really want to do-- my dream-- which is to make a good living from my writing. How do I quit a job and focus on writing when no money is coming in from it and I have no idea when the money will come? I can't... Sometimes I feel so trapped and like I have nowhere else I can go and I'm just stuck with this.

The Boot Company I worked for closed down here and moved to Puerto Rico, so we all lost our jobs. That was kind of depressing, I'd worked there for 17 years and liked it well enough. But I was able to find another job. Hopefully you'll be able to draw unemployment while you look for another job.

Come on...why do you have to be mean? Do you know snowcreature23 or anything about him/her? Do you know what he/she has been through? He/she said he/she has a "mental problem," which is clearly a cognitive disability, maybe dyslexia too, so why do you have to say things like that? I think it's great that snowcreature23 feels confident enough to even come on here and post, and it's not like his/her posts aren't worthy of discussion. Your comments are rude and uncalled for, friendcarr.

I actually quit my job because my boss was a class-A b!tch and I think she also had bipolar disorder and accused me of things I hadn't done.
