THE NOT SO HAUNTED HOUSE SURPRISE – SEASON # 6

IN THE SHOP….

Mrs. Garrett ~ (switches the sign in the window to closed)
Natalie ~ (sits down and is totally excusted) how many coustomers did we today
Tootie ~ (sits down at the table next to Natalie and lies her head down it) I don’t know I lost count after 50
Mrs. Garrett ~ (walks over towards the girls) well you girls can just relax now and take it easy
Natalie ~ (lies her head down on the table) thank you Mrs. Garrett
Jo ~ (walks in with Blair) Forget it Blair I’ve gotta study for finals
Blair ~ (in a begging way) Ah come on Jo it sounds like fun (looks over at Natalie and Tootie and walks towards them) Natalie and Tootie will even agree with me (Blair takes a seat at the table) look at this contest that’s being held over at the old Dorfman place
Tootie ~ (sits up and graps the piece of paper from blair and starts reading it) Blair what’s this all about
Jo ~ (walks over) She wants us to enter this contest where you have to spend time an a haunted house
Blair ~ the old Dorfman place you have to stay there for 24 hours (smiling) now doesn’t that sound like fun
Natlaie/tootie ~ (both are sitting up now and looking at Blair) NO
Jo ~ I told you Blair nobody wants to stay at old Dorfman place
Blair ~ (sighs) ok fine then I’ll stay there by myself
Mrs. Garrett ~ (souding worried about Blair) Oh Blair you can’t stay there by yourself it could be dangerous somebody should be there with you
Blair ~ (has a huge smile on her face) oh thank you Mrs. Garrett so you’ll come with me
Mrs. Garrett ~ (without any hestitation) no way are you crazy I meant somebody younger, somebody who you can relete with somebody…
Jo ~ (walks past Mrs. Garrett) who’s not a chicken
Mrs. Garrett ~ (very quickly) thank you Jo
Tootie ~ better give it up Blair none of us are interested in going (looks over at Natalie) come on Nat let’s go play a game of cards (Natalie and Tootie head up to the bedroom)
Jo ~ I gotta go study for finals (looks over at Blair) and don’t you have to study for finals
Blair ~ (in a daze) what oh I will
Mrs. Garrett ~ (walks up towards Blair) Blair I gave you and Jo the week off so you to can study for finals (Mrs. Garrett leaves the room)
Blair ~ (not paying attention) I gotta find a way to enter that contest
Jo ~ blair if you wanna enter the contest so bad why don’t you
Blair ~ at least 2 people have to spent the night in the house (sigh) Oh well I guess I can forget about that $1000 dollars cash prize (she starts heading out in the living room)
Jo ~ (sits down to work on the books) that’s a good idea (blair leaves the room and Jo looks up from the books) a $1000 DOLLARS (she quickly stands up and runs in the living room)
Blair ~ (sitting down on the couch next to Natalie and Tootie looks at her watch) 5 seconds not bad Jo
Jo ~ (takes a seat) ok so let me get this staight if we last 24 hours we win $1000 dollars
Blair ~ (smiling) split two ways that’s $500 dollars a piece
Natalie ~ (coming downstairs) you mean split 4 ways
Tootie ~ (coming downstairs) right and that makes $250 dollars a piece
Jo ~ (getting angry) WHAT
Blair ~ forget it you guys didn’t want to be in the contest in the first place
Jo ~ yeah Blairs right just because you find out about a cash prize doesn’t mean you have the right to hog your way into a contest
Natalie ~ isn’t that what your doing Jo
Jo ~ (sighs) Oh yeah (stars to raise her voice) well you two can just forget it Blair and I are entering the contest
Tootie ~ (getting angry) Oh really well Natalie and I entering the contest too, and were gonnea win $1000 dollars (looks over at Natalie and puts her arm around her) right Nat
Natalie ~ (with confidence) right Toot
Mrs. Garrett ~ (enters the room) so what are you girls gonnea do about the contest
Blair ~ (smiling and with total confidence she walks over and places her arm around Mrs. Garrett shoulder) Jo and I are entering the contest and were gonnea win it
Tootie ~ don’t believe her Mrs. Garrett Natalie and I are entering the contest and WERE (raises her voice on were) gonnea win it
Mrs. Garrett ~ (wraps her arms around the girls) why can’t you girls work together as one team
Jo ~ (all 4 of the girls back away at the same time and are speaking at the same time) no way
Natalie/tootie ~ forget it
Blair ~ (with a worried face) oh no
Everyone ~ (looks over at Blair)
Blair ~ we have to compete with them
Tootie ~ Blair in the words of my good friend Arnold Jackson whatcha you talking about (imating Arnold from Diff’rent Strokes)
Mrs. Garrett ~ (looks over at Blair and tries to imate Arnold) yeah Whatcha you talking (studding until she’s talking in her normal way) I I I mean what are you talking about
Blair ~ In order to in the contest you need teams of 4 people
Jo ~ (confused) I thought you said it just teams of 2 people
Blair ~ (hands Jo the flyer) here look at this
Jo ~ (reads the flyer) she right 4 people (looks at Blair and then at Natalie and Tootie) you mean we have to compete together as one team
Tootie ~ (looking over at blair) The 4 of u (looks over at Natalie)
Blair ~ (looks at the girls) it’s the only way we can be in the contest
Jo ~ (shrugs her shoulders and looks at Blair) well why not we could do worse
Tootie ~ (gets miffed) thanks but thanks Natalie and I will find a couple other girls to enter that contest with (looks over at Natalie) come on Nat we’ve gotta find a couple of girls for the contest (Natalie and Tootie leave)
Jo ~ (starts to laugh a little bit) can you believe those
Blair ~ (starts to laugh a little bit) I know I guess they really wanna win the cash prize
Jo ~ (contines to laugh) what somebody won’t do for money
Blair ~ (laughing) I know it’s crazy
Jo ~ (smiling) right
Blair ~ (look over at jo with a straight face) are you thinking what I’m thinking
Jo ~ I’m right behind you (Jo and Blair quickly run out of the store)
Mrs. Garrett ~ (laughing) Those girls never stop amazing me

Up in the girls room…..

Jo ~ (is sitting down on her bed studying)
Blair ~ (walks in and runs over to Jo’s bed) Oh Jo tell me you found a couple girls to enter the contest with
Jo ~ (doesn’t even look up from her book) Nope (puts down her book and looks up at Blair) I must of asked every girl on campus
Blair ~ (sounding despressed) well didn’t you ask any of the guys
Jo ~ Blair I’m not that type of a girl (she goes back to her studying)
Blair ~ (paces the room and kind of talks to herself) I just gotta find a way to (she turns around to see Jo studying) Jo how can you study at a time like this today’s the last day to sign up for contest
Jo ~ (gets up from her bed and walks over by the desk) excuse me Blair, but I want to finish college
Blair ~ (walks over and sits down on her bed and sluks)
Jo ~ (walks back over to her bed and sits down) look why don’t we just enter the contest with Natalie and Tootie
Blair ~ (thinks about it) well I guess we have no other choice
Jo ~ (looks down at her book) good let me know how they take it
Blair ~ (looks over at Jo with angry) what do you mean your telling them
Jo ~ (puts down her book and looks over at blair) no your telling them the contest was your idea in the first place
Blair ~ (stands up from the bed) but it was your idea to have them be a part of the team your telling them
Jo ~ (stands up) looks her Warner I’m not telling them you are
Blair ~ (spoken through her teeth) fine (spoken regulary) I’ll tell them after dinner (Blair sits down on her bed)
Jo ~ (sits back down on her bed and continues her studying after a few moments she looks over at Blair) blair don’t you have to study for finals
Blair ~ (graps her text book) Oh yeah I have professor Mason final tomorrow (she opens her book and begins studying)

Down in the living room…..

Natalie ~ (walks in with Tootie) I can’t wait till Friday night
Tootie ~ (they walk over to the couch and sit down) I know this is gonnea blow her mind
Natalie ~ I gotta admit it this time it really was a brillant idea
Mrs. Garrett ~ (enters the room and walks towards the girls) Hi girls I’m trying a new receipe it’s called spinach pot roast surprise
Natalie ~ (makes a face like she’s about to get sick and then looks back up at Mrs. Garrett) sounds yummy
Mrs. Garrett ~ (looks at her watch) oops I better get out the rolls out of the oven
Tootie ~ (leans in towards Natalie’s ear) at least we know the rolls won’t have any of that healthy junk in them
Mrs. Garrett ~ (leaves the room and Natalie smiles at Tootie)
Blair ~ (comes downstairs with Jo) is dinner almost ready
Natalie ~ yeah were having spinach pot roast surprise
Jo ~ (in a real snotty voice) mmm I can hardly wait
Blair ~ (walks over and sits down in a chair and faces Natalie and Tootie) so have you two found anybody to be in the contest with
Natalie ~ (trying to sound confident) no but were keeping our options open
Tootie ~ what about you
Blair ~ (looks over at Jo and then over at Natalie and tootie speaks really fast) ok here’s the thing your not having any luck (points to the girls) and were not having any luck (points to herself and looks back at Jo) so how about if the 4 of us (pauses for a few seconds and then speaks rather slowly) become a team
Natalie ~ (looks over at tootie) what do you think Tootie
Tootie ~ (smiling) yeah the contest wouldn’t be any fun unless we were all a team
Natalie ~ (smiles and nods in agreement)
Blair ~ (looks over at Jo) Jo it has to be all of us
Jo ~ (sighs and looks over at the girls) I’m in
Everybody ~ (starts cheering)
Blair ~ (after a few moments) Great the contest starts Friday at 7 ~ 00
Jo ~ (looks over at Blair) Ok that should work I have my final until 6 ~ 00, so I’ll just drive my bike over to the Dorfman place afterwards

Mrs. Garrett ~ (comes back in the room carrying the pot roast) dinners ready girls
Blair ~ (looks over at Mrs. Garrett and kind of makes a face) great we can’t wait
(the girls all walk over and join Mrs. Garrett at the table)
Jo ~ (looks down at the roast) this sure looks interesting
Mrs. Garrett ~ go and I’ll try it I bet you girls are gonnea love it
Blair ~ (takes a bit of her roast) mmmm this is (tasting the meat) this doesn’t taste like spinach at all
Natalie ~ it doesn’t (she takes a bit of her roast) hey she’s right it doesn’t
Tootie ~ I thought this was suppose to be spinach roast surprise
Mrs. Garrett ~ (smiling) that’s the surprise
All the girls ~ (kind of sit back in the chairs and start talking) Oh
Jo ~ (looks over at Mrs. Garett and smiles) I like that Mrs G (takes a bit of her roast) but you know this roast does taste a little different from other roasts
Tootie ~ (eats some of her salad) I know I noticed that too but I just can’t put my finger why it tastes so different
Blair ~ (looks over at Mrs. Garrett) Alright Mrs. Garrett what exactly is in this roast
Mrs. Garrett ~ (smiles and looks at the girls) I can tell you what’s not in it pot roast
Tootie ~ (looks at the other girls and they all have totally confused looks on there faces) What
Mrs. Garrett ~ it’s made from Vegetables (pauses for a couple seconds) well would you have eating it if I told you it was made from vegetables
Jo ~ (without any hesiation) no way I say we would order a pizza (takes a bite of roast) but this is actually pretty good
(they all continue eating there dinner)

Friday afternoon in the shop……..

Blair ~ (walks in) Hi (looks around) where's Jo
Natalie ~ (comes out from behind the counter) she was going over to the bike shop and then back to school to take her final
Tootie ~ she said she'd meet us over at the Dorfman place tonight
Male coustomer ~ (enters the shop)
Tootie ~ (walks up to him) hello sir my names Tootie can I help you
Male coustomer ~ (looks towards the greeting cards) yes I wanted to get wife a greeting card
Tootie ~ (smiles) oh is it your wife's birthday
Male Coustomer ~ no
Tootie ~ (still smiling) then it must be your anniversary congraulations
Male coustomer ~ (smiling a little bit) no it's not our anniversary
Blair ~ (walks up towards them) well I think that's really sweet getting your wife a card for no special day and they same romance is dead
Tootie ~ (points towards the greeting cards) well the greeting cards are right over here do you have any special kind in mind
Male coustomer ~ (walks over to the display with tootie) yes I'm sueing my wife for a divorce do you have any cards for that
Natalie ~ (leans over towards Mrs. garrett) if romance isn’t dead I think he just killed it
Tootie ~ (looks a litlte confused but then starts searching through the cards) well let's see what we have here (she goes through the cards and finally finds one she picks it out and hands it to the man) here you go sir how about this one
Male coustomer ~ (opens the card) with all the memories we've had………the good times and the bad…….there comes a day…….. when a person must say…….. baby I loved you so…….but now it's time to let you go……. for our love has run off course……..and sweetie I'm sueing you for a divorce (closes the card and looks over at Tootie) I'll take it
Tootie ~ (looks at the other and they look back at her there all giving each other strange looks) ok right this way sir and I'll ring you up (They walk over to the cash registor) Ok that will be $1.25 (he hands her the money and tootie places the card in a bag) Thank you please come again
Male coustomer ~ (leaves the shop)
Natlaie ~ (still stunned) I can't believe anybody could be so cold
Mrs. Garrett ~ I agree with you Natalie 100 percent
Blair ~ (looks at her watch) don't forget you girls have to be at the Dorfman place….
Natalie ~ (cuts her off) we know blair don't worry
Tootie ~ I hope everything goes well for tonight
Blair ~ come on Tootie your not going to chicken out now are you
Tootie ~ (a little worried) Oh no it's just that I've heard some strange things going on in that house
Natalie ~ Tootie it's an old abanded house what could possibly go on there
Tootie ~ (sighs) Well I'm still not sure this is a good idea
Natlaie ~ (puts her arm around Tootie) Tootie don't worry I'll be there and Blair and Jo will be there will be fine
Blair ~ Natalies right and besides Jo doesn't scare you does she
Tootie ~ (with a confused face) no
Blair ~ (with a fake smile) well if she doesn’t' scare you nothing will
Mrs. Garret ~ Blair (kind of raises her voice)
Blair ~ (laughing) I'm only kidding Mrs. Garrett
Mrs. garrett ~ (gives her a look that says I'm not so sure)

A little while later Natalie and tootie are in the living room watching tv…..

Blair ~ (comes downstairs) Ok are you guys about ready to go
Natalie ~ (Tootie and Natalie stand up) yeah did you talk to Mrs. Garrett
Blair ~ (buttoning up her coat) don't worry she knows
Natalie / tootie ~ (walks over to the linen closet and put on there coats)
Blair ~ come on we'd better get going (yells towards the kitchen) bye Mrs. Garrett were leaving now (the girls leave the house)

The Dorfman place……

Jo ~ (drives up on her motorcycle and parks out in front she walks up the steps the creek with each step she freeze when she hears the sound of the wind thinking it's something horriable she takes two steps back down and then waits a few moments) No I got do this after all if Blair doesn't scare me nothing will (she places her hand on the stair rail and starts to go up again as she rubbing her hand she feels cob webs) ew gross (she shakes them off and contines up the stairs finally she reaches the top she use the door knocker and the door opens by itself) Wow (she jumps back peaking inside) Blair are you in there (she looks into a very dark room)
Blair ~ (from inside just her voice is heard because it's so dark) yeah were over here come on in
Jo ~ (carefully walks in) Can't you turn on a light or something it's so dark in here
Tootie ~ (only her voice is heard) we've been looking for the switch for the past half hour
Jo ~ (a little worried only her voice is heard) Oh great look blair I know I said I'd agree to this contest but now I'm now so sure
Natalie ~ (only her voice is heard) Oh wait I think I found it

(the lights come on to a room full of people)

Everybody ~ SURPRISE (except for Jo)
JO ~ (totally shocked) what's going on here
Blair ~ (walks up to Jo and gives her a hug) Happy Birthday Jo
Jo ~ (looks around and is in total shock) but my birthday isn't until Wednesday
Tootie ~ (smiling) we know that's why this is a surprise party
Jo ~ (smiling) oh my gosh you guys really got me good
Blair ~ (puts her arm around Jo) well that's what friends are for
Jo ~ (smiling) yeah (her smile quickly fades) and I can't wait till your birthday
Blair ~ (looks a little shocked and then turns towards mrs. Garrett) Mrs. Garrett do you wanna help Andy
Mrs. Garrett ~ (walks over towards Andy) Right (andy and Mrs. garrett leave the room)
Female guest ~ (walks up to Jo) Happy birthday Jo
Jo ~ (gives her a hug) thanks you mean to tell me there was no contest
Tootie ~ nope we made the flyer ourselves
Jo ~ (still stunned) Oh wow but what if I didn't fall for one of your tricks
Natalie ~ we would have had your birthday party without you (puts her around Jo)

(the lights dim a little bit and mrs. Garrett and Andy come back in the room carrying a birthday cake)
Everybody ~ (singing a little fast) happy birthday to you (they all clap except for mrs. garrett and Andy) happy birthday to you (clap again and singing a little bit slower) happy birthday dear jo happy birthday to you (everyone claps and cheers Blair and Natalie have Jo walk up towards the cake)
Jo ~ (looks like she's about to cry) you guys are the greatest (she looks over at Blair) even you Blair (
Andy ~ Um Jo why don't you tell everybody how great they are after you blow out the candles the wax is starting to melt
Jo ~ (looks over at Andy and smiles leans in and just before she blows out the candles….)
Tootie ~ (shouts) Wait you forgot to make a wish
Jo ~ (kind of under her breath) Oh tootie (closes her eyes) Ok fine (she opens them again and looks over at Blair) I guess wishes don't come true your still here
Blair ~ (just gives her a phoney smile) would you blow out the candles already
Jo ~ (leans in and blows out all the candles in one breath)
Everybody clapping ~ speech speech
Jo ~ (looks around and smiles) well gosh this is gotta be the biggest surprise of my life (she turns towards Blair) I take that back the first day I meant Blair was the biggest surprise of my life.. (she gets a faraway look in her eyes)

(the screen fades out and when it comes back in were taking to the first time Jo and Blair meet)

Eastland School Cafertaira (1981)

Jo ~ (walks in wearing old jeans a jean jacket and a helmet) Ah is this were I'm suppose to be
Blair ~ (looks over at Jo) Delivery boys usually come in through the back
Jo ~ (takes off her helmet) Deliver boy give me a break is this where I check in
Blair ~ (pointing at Jo and laughing a little) I don't believe this
Natalie ~ You don't I was gonnea ask him to the fall dance (Jo holds up her arm like she's aobut to punch Natalie) OOOHH (Natalie backs up)

(the screen fades back in again and Jo's standing there laughing a little bit) From that moment I had a pretty good idea what kind of girls were at Eastland and I new I didn’t' want to be there (looks over at Blair Natalie and Tootie and smiles) but I was wrong if I never went to Eastland I wouldn't have the 3 best friends a girl could ask for
Everyone ~ claps

Blair ~ (pulls out a seat for Jo) Jo have a seat (Jo takes a seat but gives Blair a look that says I’m not so sure about this) this is part of the evening were we Jo’s closed friends all say something about her. (looks around and smiles) I gotta tell you meeting and getting to know Jo has been the greatest experience of my life. They say that opposite’s attract and I guess in our case it’s true. She’s taught me that it’s ok to have a piece of hair out of place or that I don’t have to my make up blended perfectly (looks over at Jo with a tear in her eye) you’re the best friend I ever had
Jo ~ (stands up) you too Blair (she reaches out her arms and they hug)
Blair ~ (kind of whispers in her ear) happy birthday Jo
Jo ~ (takes a seat again as Natalie approaches her) Jo you’ve taught me to hang in there and not to give up during ruffs times. You helped when my father died. You told me I need to concour my fears because if you don’t there always gonnea be with you. You’ve taught me a lot of things over the years things I hope someday to teach my own children Happy Birthday Jo
Jo ~ (stands up) thanks natalie (they hug)
Natalie ~ (looks back at tootie) Tootie
Tootie ~ (comes up towards Jo) you’ve taught me to dream and to keep holding on to that dream. I know a lot of students in college our trying to become doctors or lawlors, and probelry will make a lot of money someday. But you never discouraged me from wanting to become an actress because you know someday my name will be up in lights and on the night when I win first oscar your gonnea be the very first person I thank (pause for about 3 seonds) well I mean right after God, and my family, and my agent, and my producer, and my….
George ~ (walks over and puts his hand on tootie’s Mouth) Ok let’s give somebody else a change to speak (looks over at Mrs. Garrett) Mrs. Garrett take it away (tootie and George step back)
Mrs. Garrett ~ (walks up towards Jo) Jo you’ve taught the girls so much over the years, but you’ve taught me too
Jo ~ (speaks softly) come on Mrs. G what’d I ever teach you
Mrs. Garrett ~ you’ve taught to me to hang tuff and to believe in myself (looks over at everyone else) a few years ago when our old shop burned down I didn’t know what I was going to do (looks back at Jo) but then you (looks back at Jo) and the rest of the girls (looks over at Natalie Blair and Tootie) taught me to climb back up on that horse and get back in there when the going gets tuff the tuff get going Happy Birthday Jo
Jo ~ (stands up and wipes a tear from her eye) thanks Mrs. G (they all hug)
Tootie / Natalie / blair ~ (all walk up and they have a group hug)
Everybody ~ (claps and cheers)

Back at the house up in the girls room…..

Tootie ~ (comes out the bathroom and heads over to her bed) so Jo how'd you like the party
Jo ~ (sitting on her bed) That was the best party ever I still can't get over how you guys tricked me
Blair ~ (smiles) well we just wanted you to know how much we all love you
Jo; (looks over at Blair) Thanks but what if my final ended early
Natalie ~ we were prepared for that
Tootie ~ (she walks over towards the light switch) Blair had everybody come over 2 hours early just incase night everyone (she turns off lights and heads back to bed)
Jo ~ (lying in bed turns towards Blair) blair your birthdays' next month right
Blair ~ (in a sleepy voice) Right at the end of it why
Jo ~ (in a very mysterious voice) oh you'll see (Blair gives her a worried look) good night (jo turns over and goes to sleep)
Natalie / Tootie ~ dum dum dummmmmmm (trying to sound really scary)
Blair ~ (sits up and looks at them) now cut that out
Jo / Natalie / tootie ~ (all start to laugh)
Blair ~ (after a few seconds she joins in)

Great idea, my next scribt will be about Jo getting even with Blair for her birthday. I'll start working on it next week and hopefully have it finished by next weekend.

I liked the part about the man and the divorce card too. I also liked how you had the girls not want to be partners for a while in the haunted house and then be partners that was a clever plot twist that helped keep the suspence a live. This birthday party eposide would be perfect for Halloween.
