Default Lucy's two screams...

Rick mentioned in another thread abt how he wasn't sure abt that scream Lucy supposedly did in that episode where "Little Renita" appeared in CUBAN PALS. Lucy, of course, gets into Ricky's act and she is approached by some voodoo doctor in the dance number which surprises her and causes her to scream. I seen that segment and now that Rick mentioned it, it does seem kinda fake. I don't know if she did the scream in the studio and they inserted it later (dubbed it in) or if someone else did the screaming for her.

I also noticed in today's airing of the martian episode, right after the guys, dressed as martians, rob the girls of their $1000, Ethel yells at Lucy to call the police, we then see and hear Lucy scream. A funny moment if you ask me. It does sound different than the scream in that Cuban Pals scene.

What do you all think?

Oh good, now you see what I mean. As long as I can remember, I always found that scream odd, like it just didn't match. I think it's really Faye Wray screaming in King Kong.

I think you guys are right! Lucy's screams in "Cuban Pals" are dubbed in. I think it is another person screaming that has a deeper voice than Lucy. Also, I don't think Lucy's own screams would have been heard since she was running around, out of breath, and the band was playing loudly. They probably had some lady who watched Lucy offstage and screamed into a microphone when Lucy opened her mouth.

"Cuban Pals" is from season one, #28. Lucy's screams happen in the final scene during the fast part of the "Similau" number.

Let me add, in the cousin Ernie episode right after Lucy comes out of kitchen and runs into Ricky (while she was hiding from Ernie) she screamed in that scene as well.

And THAT was surely a real Lucille Ball scream!
