Default anyone watch the History Channel?

I've recently gotten into it and have started really liking documentaries and non fiction stuff in general. Anyone seen the commercial for the special on Nostradamus on the 28th? Hes the prophet that people say has predicted all these world events like the world wars and stuff and the end of the world (now they are linking his writings to 9/11). what does everyone think about him?

Well, back in 1989 there was a documentary by the late Orson Welles and he was reading the writings of Nostradamus. And, if we go by what Nostradamus said in those writings, we should have been doomed (the end of the world) back in 1997. We are still here, so obviously his writings are bogus.

As for the History Channel, I love this channel. I did see the commercials abt this up-coming "Lost books of Nostradamus" and to me, it only instills fear and of course, ratings for this channel.

I don't believe the whole 9/11 thingy because Nostradamus' writings were written in a language that if you try to interpret what he said in YOUR OWN LANGUAGE, it comes out different. It was only after 9/11 occur, did the whole rumor abt Nostradamus predicting the terrorist attack come to light.

I love History Television ( the Canadian version )..which has a lot of History Channel shows along with things from the BBC and of course Canadian-made shows too...on the other hand, lately they have been ruining things with ENTERTAINMENT shows that dont belong on History, such as DEADWOOD< Westerns have NOTHING to do with history, they are totally BOGUS....JAG<What does THIS have to do with history? Its not even set in the PAST...and the same goes for CSI<<<THIS DOES NOT BELONG ON HISTORY.....This network should be DOCUMENTARIES ONLY!!!!

I like THE HISTORY CHANNEL and have for a while. My favorite shows (currently) are THE UNIVERSE and MEGA DISASTERS. I liked WILD WEST TECH but they took it off .
And sometimes I'll watch MODERN MARVELS if they have anything good on it. (like the recent one called STAR TREK TECH-I watched that-of course, judging by my aviater) and recorded it)

Nothing wrong with learning about Nostradamus, just remember, his writings only "work" if you interpret them VERY losely; however, if you do it for fun, then theres no harm in it!
