Hello Folks,
It was my intention not to post anything significant until I had something iron clad to announce(which, whether you believe me or not, will happen shortly) but in the meantime I have a question regarding the two animated Gilligan series. While I certainly have seen them I can't say that I recall any specific episodes standing out more than any others. Whereas with the original series, people have their favorite episodes, I vaguely recall that the animated episodes all sort of blended together (in a good way). Granted, they have not had the same kind of rerun life that the original series had but still, I don't recall any of them real specifically. If anyone here knows these series' well enough, can you tell me any specific episodes of either of them that are particualrly good........or are they all about equal? Thanks |

Thanks for the inquiry. I actually recall reading plot synopses and comments about the individual episodes on the two series and many of the reactions seemed to favor, for one thing, episodes that had some "Gilligan/Maryann" moments (one of his three wishes is to kiss her; she makes him a pie and watches him eat it, etc.). The plot summaries are online for the two animated series. Fans would probably appreciate some of the above mentioned--although, of course, the entire collection of episodes would be great!!!

I'm sorry, I don't recall exactly, but if you just type in the names of the shows, you might find them--I think that's what I did when I was looking for them again. Just do a search with the names. If I recall more, I'll be in touch. We really would like to have those series, I think!!! Thanks for your interest.

I got all the Gilligan's Planet episodes and all but 5 New Adventures episodes.
I have only seen a few of each because well, it was kind of boring. One planet episode I saw that was kind of neat was about how the Skipper missed having a boat so they made him one. There is a alien that is attacking them while on the boat because the alien wants these "diamonds" Mr Howell found, they end up being eggs. I'll have to look up the name of the episode or rewatch it. There was a New Advetures episode I liked that was based on "Gilligan's Living Doll" |

The rest of the episode guide is just as bad. I have no idea why someone would do this. By the way, one episode of "The New Adventures" called "Off Limits" is available on DVD on Saturday Morning Cartoons of the 1970's , volume 2. Watch the episode, read the online "synopsis," and you'll see what I mean. |

This website has both series on DVD: http://www.timesforgottendvd.com/
It has Gilligan's Planet in it's entirety and a "best of" set of New Adventures. I emailed them and they said it's just because they couldn't find the other episodes to include them. I want to see them, but I don't really want to shell out 40-some dollars right now - especially after hearing that the online symopses are incorrect! |
