Default Number of Stupid Comments by Sherri Shepard on the 10/10/07 View

Only one again

1. "I send text messages to people while I'm driving."

Whoopi's response to her-"So if you son is looking at this right now he will think it'a ok to do that."

Sherri-"but I don't it when I'm in the car With him"

LOL-I guess one day she will have zero dumb comments

Is it dumb because it is not funny or is it dumb because you believe she does that?

Solomon, millions of people do that. I don't like it, but they do. I think she may have said that just to "be funny".

You need to stop taking everything she says LITERALLY. Whoopi and other funny people tend to say things that make you wonder, "Do they do that?" I know George Lopez has said some stuff on talk shows abt things he has done to his mother, but it is obvious he would never do such things to her, he says things that sound true, but it is merely for laughs. I know she isn't funny to you, but her career is comedy. Just like some people didn't believe Michael Richards isn't racist, that he only said those stupid things to try and be funny at that comedy club. It wasn't funny, but he thought he was.

But when she said it she wasn't smiling, she was serious

Many funny people say things without smiling. George Lopez does that a lot in his routines. So does George Carlin. They don't always laugh or smile when they say funny things. She did the same thing on those VH1 specials.

What was the conversation BEFORE that comment? Surely something leads up to her saying the things she does. She just doesn't blurt out things.

I think it had something to do with drunk driving

I've done it thousands of times, when I'm at a red light I'll send an email. So send a quick text while driving. People do it all the time, And yes I know it's dangerous lol but it happens

Yes, that's what they were discussing. And Irene, Sherri was serious about this one. They even went back at her for that comment.

They talk about their lives and pop culture, there's nothing wrong with telling the truth. Also Rosie said that she has driven tipsy, and that's as dangerous. Before EH got pregnant she talked about her and her husband having sex and their sex life on TV ALL THE TIME. Whoopie made a reference to having lots of sex after the pill came out. Joy said something the other day about sticking a beer can up a chickens “vagina.” Everyone says something that they shouldn’t on that show everyday and that's what makes their Hot Topics entertaining. So make a thread about everyone’s stupid statements.

It's called nitpicking and making people think that she's serious when she isn't. I could see if it's a serious moment on the show and their talking about something dramatic. But when it's a light hearted moment and you know she's just saying something for a laugh, then it's petty criticism, it‘s just pointless. She's a comedian, just like Joy and Whoopie.
