Just the Three of Us-Episode #2-Meet the Teachers
Note: Jeff, Leanna, and Nikki are all 13 and starting 8th grade. And also, Jo and Tootie are in this episode!
Scene-Nikki and Leanna's Bedroom [Nikki and Leanna are sleeping peacefully in their beds, that is, until Nat walks in....] Nat: WAKE UP!!!!! [Leanna and Nikki continue sleeping]Ooooooo....[shakes their beds]Hurry up and get dressed! Leanna: [half asleep]Nat what do you want? Nikki: [half asleep also]Yeah! Its the middle of the night! Nat: Middle of the night?!?!?! It's morning! Put on your uniforms! Classes start today! U don't wanna be late do you? Leanna: Nooooo!!!! I'm too tired! Nikki: We'll go to class tomorrow. But now we'll go to sleep. [they fall asleep] Nat: Hurry! I have to go wake up Jeff! [Leanna and Nikki continue complaining] Scene-Jeff's Bedroom [Nat walks in] Nat: [quietly walks next to Jeff's bed]GET UP!!! Jeff: AHHHHH!!!! Don't do that! Nat: Come on Jeff, you'll be late for class! Jeff: [tired]Nooo please! Just give me 5 more hours...[dozes off] Nat: Oooo you kids! I'm going downstairs for breakfast. The three of you better come down. Jeff: Noooo too tired! Scene-Kitchen [Nat, Jeff, Leanna, Nikki are sitting at the table eating. Jeff, Nikki, Leanna are in their Eastland uniforms. They are still very, very sleepy] Nat: I'm sure you'll love all the teachers! The drama teacher and the gym teacher are two of my friends! We went to Eastland together, Tootie and Jo. Nikki: [half asleep]Wow.... Leanna: [half asleep]Thats great... Jeff: [half asleep]Cool.....[suddenly wakes up completely]Wait...TOOTIE!?!?!? What kind of name is that? [laughs]Hahahaha! [Nikki and Leanna also laugh] Leanna: What a name! Haha! Nikki: And JO!!!!! [the 3 laugh] Nat: Oh come on! Tootie's real name is DOROTHY and Jo's real name is JOANNA. Jeff, Nikki, Leanna: Ohhhh....[they begin to doze off again] [Blair walks in] Blair: Good morning! Isn't it just a wonderful day? Nikki: [tired]Yeah.....great... Nat: Blair, I was just telling Jeff, Leanna, and Nikki about Tootie and Jo! Blair: Oh yeah! I remember our Eastland days..... Leanna: Oh no..... Jeff: I feel a flashback coming! Nikki: Great....[the three doze off] Scene-Science class Nikki: Is this it? Leanna: I think so.... Jeff: Yup it is! Room 109. Lets go. [opens the door, Nikki, Leanna, Jeff and other students sit down at their desks. The teacher walks in. She wears huge glasses and dresses funny] Leanna: PLEASE tellme thats not her.... Mrs. Davis: Hello. I'm Mrs. Davis. I'll be your science teacher this year. Nikki and Jeff: Its her. Mrs. Davis: Now class, let me explain the rules of our science class! [takes out a huge list of rules] Nikki, Jeff, Leanna: NOOOOOO!!!!!! Later that day.... Jeff: I don't know how I can stand this year! Our science teacher is sooooo boring, our English teacher is soooo tough.... Leanna: Out math teacher is sooo mean, our history teacher is just plain annoying... Nikki: I know!!!! We have to go to gym class next... Leanna: Hey that's the one Nat's friend umm.....JO teaches! Jeff: Yeah! Let's go! Scene-Gym Class [Jeff, Nikki, Leanna, and other students walk in. All are now in Eastland gym uniforms.] Jo: Hello everyone. I'm Jo Polniaczek and I'll be your gym teacher this year. I'm just gonna tell u....gym this year won't be easy... Jeff: [to Leanna and Nikki]I'm having a really hard time just pronouncing that last name! [Nikki and Leanna laugh] Jo: HEY-I heard that!!!!! Jeff: Sorry Jo: Anyway, before we begin, does anyone have any questions? A boy: Are you married? [all the students laugh] Jo: Yes yes. I'm happily married to my husband Rick Bonner. A girl: Then why isn't your name Jo Bonner? Jo: Well for this job i wanted to keep the name Polniaczek! Nikki: What names can we call u? Jo: Well personally i like, "perfect in every way," "wonderful," "the best gym teacher there ever was." [all the students laugh]But for real...just call me Jo. Leanna: You mean we can call you by your first name? Jo: Sure!!! Being called "Miss" or "Mrs." whatever....i just don't like how it sounds. Jeff: So, what will we do today? Jo: Well, I'm supposed to teach you the rules of gym class, but i'll do that tomorrow! Who's up for a game of basketball! All in favor say "I"!!!! All Students: I!!!!!! Later.... Leanna: I really like Jo! Jeff: Me too! She's the best teaher we've seen so far! Nikki: I like her too!!!! Now its time for that special program on "Drama and Acting." Leanna: Yeah! Then we'll meet Nat's other friend....Tootie! Scene-Auditorium [Jeff, Nikki, Leanna, and other students come in] Tootie: Hi everyone!! I'm Dorothy Ramsey. But you can call me tootie! Nikki: Wow! Her and Jo are the only teachers that let us call them by their first name! Tootie: Now, I'm here to talk to you about Drama....[walks up to Jeff]You there, whats your name? Jeff: Jeff. Tootie: Oooo i love that name! Thats my husbands name! Jeff: Wow! Tootie: Anyway, are you interested in Drama? Jeff: Well...i dunno...I'm not too good in drama... Tootie: Thats ok!!!!! I can help you! Believe me! It's a lot of fun! Jeff: Ok!! i'll think about it! Tootie: Thats great! [walks up to Nikki]You, whats your name? Nikki: Nikki Tootie: Hello Nikki! Now, what's you're favorite play? Nikki: Umm i dunno....A Christmas Carol? Tootie: Great! I love that play too!!!! Now tell me something, what are some character traits in Scrooge? Nikki: Ummmm hes mean, grumpy, old, Tootie: Very good Nikki!!!!! It's always good to know what the characters in a play are like! Now, anyone have any questions? Leanna: What is the play this year? Tootie: Well... i dunno.... but you guys can give me some ideas! [hands out pieces of paper]Write your ideas down here! Jeff: Wow!!! We even get to pick out our own play?!?!? Tootie: Of course!!! Leanna: I'm really gonna like Drama! Nikki: Me too!!!! Scene-Back at the Dorm [Nat, Blair, Tootie, and Jo are all sitting on the couch looking at pictures from their Eastland days] Tootie: Wow!!! The four musketeers! Back together again! Jo: Tootie, somehow i knew you would say that! [the four laugh] Nat: Hey look! Mrs. G!!! Blair: Have any of you heard from her since she got married? Jo, Nat, Tootie: Nope. Blair: Well i did. I brought her postcard with me. [reads it] Dear Blair, Jo, Natalie, Tootie, Blair told me all about how the four of you will be together again in Eastland! I think that's just wonderful! And a note to Nat, i know about your housemother job! Always remember everything i always taught you! And help your kids when they are learning the facts of life! Well, my husband is calling me. I love you girls.... Lots of Love, Mrs. Garrett Tootie: Wow!!!! Mrs. Garrett, what a lady! Jo: She always helped us through our hard times... Nat: Now, thats my job to do for Jeff, Leanna, and Nikki. THE END! How was it? |
