Why do some have a problem with Gracie? - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

Is it the specific character of Gracie that some have a problem with, or is it a problem with a prominent child character being on the show period?

I really don't have a problem with Gracie...yet. I'd rather see the dynamic between Kelly and Chuck first.

I don't have problem with her as long as the character is used the right way

I like her. She adds a different demension to the regular newsroom comedy and I like her scenes with Kelsey.

I don't have a problem with Gracie, the character, either, I just think it's a bit too soon to focus the main storyline around her. At least not yet. I'd like to see more of the dynamic between Kelly and Chuck first, too. They can't show them get on eachother's nerves in every episode and then have them play parents with Gracie, fighting who'll get her attention.

As far as Gracie the actress ... hm I don't know. She is a very cute kid but that hairstyle makes her look kinda sad and older. Also, she looks a bit contrieved to me. Perhaps, she's not used to acting in front of a live audience which is very different from shooting movies. I don't know. Anyways, she's been on the show 10 minutes all in all so it's a bit difficult to judge. She's a sweet kid though and I'd like to see her grow as actress and character.

I totally agree. It is hard to judge a character that has hardly been on. I also agree with Solomon, that if she is used the right way, she could be a pretty good character.
