Smile NOW FEATURING...HOME SWEET HUT

First of all, do you notice how happy the Skipper tends to look when he's cooking the meal for everyone (or even for himself)? I think he wants to be the chef. He should really trade places with Maryann--he should be the cook and she should move in with Gilligan. She might do a better job of helping him with his late-night problems and need for reassurance than the Skipper, who often tells him basically to shut up.

It was interesting how when they just threw on some of the Howell clothes while their's were drying that they wore full outfits with hats, silk scarves, etc. Also, why didn't someone cue Maryann sooner that her dress was falling off?

It's curious that Mrs. Howell didn't care who heard about the details of her fight with her husband. I wonder what it was about! I love the joke about the "monsoons" coming--it's one of my favorites!!

Hey, MAGs, how do you explain Gilligan's susceptibility to Ginger in this one; he seems transfixed by her???? She obviously got to him. Go ahead, MAGs, take a stab at this one! (I'm an MAG, but we need to explain these things if we can--or are we wrong?)

I hate it when the Professor doesn't believe Gilligan when he tells him he just pulled out one palm leaf and the wall fell down. That's a bit much; they just recently met.

I love how Ginger and Maryann built their own hut--and it really is cute!! I also love Mr. Howell's design with the hammock outside. And I love the community hut joke!!!

Ginger haters: you just have to notice who it is who keeps her cool during the ravages of the storm--it's not Maryann!!! I'll bet the MAPs love that clinging to the Professor scene.
MAGs and GAPs, how do you explain that???

Let's here all your comments on Episode #2!!!

Don't forget how hysterical it was when Gilligan dressed up in everybody else's clothes to try to dry them...

...it was a classic moment when he curtsied in Mary Ann's dress!

very, er, easily! hem, hem.... How dare you suggest that we're the wrong ones Im!!!!

let us begin by analyzing the Ginger/Gilligan scene. OKay... you say transfixed... may I suggest terrified instead? I mean, we all know Gilligan's pretty scared of girls to begin with. Also, this is the first time Gilligan get's vamped so obviously he's going to be... nervous, jumpy, whatever you want to call it. I don't think there was anything romantic about Gilligan giving into Ginger; he was merely scared stiff and didn't know what to do.
Now... the MaryAnn clinging to Professor...
I could go on but I don't. I'll be back about this though... I need to review that episode before I make any accusations!

Wow!Mary Ann & Gilligan living in the same hut?Remember that the show was in the sixtiest,a good girl like Mary Ann wouldn't live other the same roof with a man if they weren't married no matter how innoncent he was.Think about what Mrs.Howell would say...Oh,dear!!!It's not proper at all.

No,Gilligan wasn't infactuated by Ginger herself but,by a movie star's image,he was impressed to meet a movie face to face that's all.

The professor & Mary Ann clinging???She was next to him and she was scared why wouldn't she That doesn't mean anything.

Funny moment indeed when Gilligan was drying everybody's closes with the closes on...

The Skipper:Well Gilligan, are my closes dry yet?

Gilligan:A little too dry,Skipper...see?(pants on fire)

I went back and watched the episode in question... eeeewww!!!!!!! wanted to barf during that storm.
But I refuse to believe that it meant anything more than MaryAnn being scared out of her wits (she's used to tornadoes, not hurricanes!) and the Professor just happened to be there... but still... not one of my favorite scenes...

Thumbs up

I agree with you! She's just scared. But we have to face these scenes, as much as they might induce vomiting, because I'm sure that scene is a classic MAP moment. We can't run away from them. MAPs of course, in all fairness, are welcome to give their spin on moments in the chosen episode, as well. That scene makes me gag a little also. Isn't it funny how MAGs get viscerally affected by scenes like that???? What is that????
