Default Ryan and...Karen?

I was watching episode 3 "Dunder Mifflin Infinity" last night...

Did you guys catch Ryan's revelation to Kelly that Karen (Jim's ex) asked him out "six months ago?"

Very interesting. I am assuming that "six months ago" in the show's timeline means that Karen was still with Jim when this happened....

Since I read that Rashinda Jones (Karen) is coming back sometime this season for a couple of episodes, I'm hoping we learn more about this.

Hmmm. Things are gonna get good this season!

I'm pretty sure he made that up just to prove to Kelly that they weren't exclusive. Also remember in "Women's Appreciation" where Ryan sent Karen an e-mail asking her out because he didn't know that she and Jim were officialy a couple and she wrote back that she wasn't ready for an office relationship. lol

You're right! Good call. Yeah, Ryan is probably lying.

This probably means that when Karen returns, Kelly will probably have something tosay to her.

Catfight!

I noticed this as well but I didn't think much of it. Though I didn't like her with Jim, I didn't think Karen was all that bad. Asking Ryan out while still dating Jim definately does not seem like something that she would have done.

I agree. Karen was cool.

On Friends Ross and Rachel's other boyfriend/girlfriends were total losers - how could they possibly find happiness with them?

But the Office writers made Karen likable. She was very good for Jim, and it was kinda sad knowing that eventually Jim was going to choose Pam.

I think Ryan just flipped the story around (since he was the one who asked Karen out via email and he was the one who was rejected) to make Kelly feel better about the relationship that they had (or still have??).

It'll be interesting to see how Kelly will react to Karen (according to Entertainment Weekly, I think Karen is supposed to appear in a few more episodes).

For anyone who's interested, here is the description of the episode where Karen makes her return:

RASHIDA JONES (”Boston Public”) GUEST STARS — When Karen (guest star Rashida Jones) tries to woo Stanley (Leslie David Baker) away from Scranton, Michael (Golden Globe winner Steve Carell) fights back, dragging her ex, Jim (John Krasinski), into his war. Meanwhile, the existence of a “Finer Things Club” further disturbs Dunder Mifflin’s calm.

Sounds drama-ful. This is airing on November 1st, by the way.
