Question Second Episode Thoughts

Did you like or dislike the second episode? I didn't care too much for it. It just wasn't that funny to me. Any one have any thoughts on it?

I didn't think it was very good, I liked last week's episode a lot more. It was great to see Craig T. Nelson on a sitcom again, and I enjoyed his scenes with Earl, but I didn't care for the whole inmates storyline. The two inmates seemed to take over the show and if one didn't know any better, they'd probably think they were the main characters. And Randy is in prison now, but he's a prison guard. I guess it's not the worst thing to happen, his scenes with Joy were starting to get old and at least he got a job there instead of being sent to prison.

One of the great things about this show is, even if the episode isn't very good, they always play great music. In the last episode, they played "Listen to the Music" and "Great Balls of Fire" two of my favorite songs.

I tend to agree with you up to a point. I like that Randy is a guard now. I mean, who wants Earl and Randy apart? Plus, it made them happy and it's always nice to have a happy ending to an episode. I will agree that the inmate's storyline was off but Craig T. Nelson was good. And I agree with you again on the music. I was thinking the same thing as it was playing. A lackluster episode suddenly gets some points for having great music attached to it.

I noticed Catalina was absent from this episode and I hope that doesn't happen too much, because I like it when all five of the main characters are in the episodes.

Also, last weeks episode kept Earl working on his list (although it wasn't with him, so he hasn't offically crossed it off yet). Yet this week, his main goal was to get a ticket (or coupon, whatever it was called) for a month off his sentence, not a karma list. Maybe I'm just being picky, but I prefer it when this show keeps with it's main plot of Earl's list.

I hope he isn't going to be in prison for too long.

It's like how on "I Love Lucy", they went to Hollywood for a group of episodes. Earl goes to prison for a group of episodes. These are Earl's "Hollywood" episodes. lol

I hope he gets out early. I don't want him in prison for two whole seasons.

Me neither. It's also hard for the whole cast to get together except on visiting days. lol

I liked the season premiere better than this episode but I also agree Craig T. Nelson was great in it. I've always been a fan of his. I wish he'd get on another show.

I liked the second episode. I got a big chuckle when Randy showed up in the end.

Craig T Nelson was a great edition to the semi regular cast. He was very funny.

As much as i would like to see Earl get out of jail and get back to his list, but it appears he has some people to help in prison.

I'll give the writers credit, at least they found a clever way to get Randy in the prison with Earl. After the season premiere, I was afraid Randy was gonna continue to try and get arrested and sent to prison so he could be with Earl. To me, that would have been taking the easy way out, so to speak.

Yeah, I missed Catalina too. I always love her scenes with Joy.

I think Earl's going to be in prison for probably half of the season. I heard Alyssa Milano is going to appear in a few episodes, playing some sort of groupie. Hopefully, Earl will work on the list a little while he's there cause that is the main point of the show. I remember last season a few people were complaining that the show was going off track and not focusing on the list as much.
