The Missing Mertzes - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

When I watched "The Young Fans" today, I noticed the Mertzes were not in the episode. It started me thinking, and the only other episode I could come up with that had one of the foursome missing was in "The Amateur Hour." I don't think Fred was in that. Those episodes were in the first half of season one. From then on the writers probably realized how important Fred and Ethel were to the show and included them every time.

Do any of you know of another episode where the Mertzes were missing?

"Lucy Plays Cupid" And Ethel is missing from "The Audition."

What abt where Fred and Ethel were seen in an episode BUT NOT TOGETHER?

In the camping trip episode, we don't see them together in any scenes, but we do see them separately in scenes.
