The Game Show
Takes place in Season 4.
(Everyone watching tv)
Tootie- Kit Kat bar!!!! The answer is Kit Kat bar!!!!
Nat- Tootie settle down. They can’t hear you remember.
Tootie- I can’t help it Nat. These people are so stupid. I can answer almost all of these questions.
Jo- Well then why don’t you just go on the show?
Tootie- (Thinks for a second) That is a great idea! Thanks Jo! (Runs upstairs and calls the tv station) Hello? Yes my 4 friends and me would like to be contestants for the show. Next week? Okay. Thank you. Bye. (Hangs up phone and runs downstairs)
Blair- (Sees Tootie) Well that was fast. I would never be caught on that show. I mean now that they are changing it and all.
Tootie- Changing it?
Jo- You were upstairs when they announcer was talking about the new last two rounds they have.
Tootie- What are the last two rounds?
Blair- Well the 2nd round is where you answer the question and if you get it wrong you get all this gunk spilled all over you. And the 3rd round is where you answer the question and if you don’t know it you have to do some weird dare.
Tootie- Oh no. (Sits down) What if I get one wrong? Oh no.
Blair- Like I said before I would never do that. I mean those dares are so dumb. I would never get my clothes dirty. The one dare they had when you were upstairs was that you had to walk through a pile of dirt and garbage. Although I do that everyday. (Looks at Jo)
Jo-(frowns)Blair, go suck a lemon.
Nat-(Giggles a little then walks over to Tootie) Don’t worry Tootie. A lot of people go on this show and they are still alive.
Tootie- I know.
Blair- Then what are you so worried about?
Tootie- Well there is one little detail I sort of forgot to tell you guys.
Nat- Uh oh. (falls into the chair)
Blair- What is it Tootie?
Jo- Yeah spill it out.
Tootie- Well when I entered me I sort of entered some other certain friends of mine.
Blair- Oh. Well what do we care?
(Everyone gives Blair a look)
Blair- Oh no. No, no, no, no, no. I am not going on that show.
Tootie- It’s too late. They already have us down.
Nat- Well I think you better call them back and cancel.
Tootie- Alright. (Walks upstairs)
Nat- (Lets out a sigh of relief) Well that was a close one.
Blair- Your telling me. Can you imagine how dumb I would look on a game show like that?
Jo- It would just be like everyday.
Blair- Turn Blue!
Jo- (Starts laughing) Don’t you know any other comebacks? If you say it anymore I think I am going to turn into a blueberry.
Nat- (Starts to laugh with Jo)
Blair- (Frowns at first then starts laughing with them)
Tootie- (Slowly walking down the stairs) Guys…
(They all stop laughing)
Nat- Uh oh.
Blair- (Does her little whine)
Jo- Don’t tell me.
Tootie- Alright I won’t.
Jo- Well what are you waiting for?! Tell us!
Tootie- They said that once you call in that you cannot cancel.
(Just then Mrs. G walks in)
MG- Hey everyone! How was your day?
(The four of them look at Mrs. G and then look at Tootie)
Tootie- (gives out a fake laugh) Oh nothing much. Ate dinner, watched TV, signed up for a game show (says that one real fast) you know usual stuff.
MG- What was the last one again?
Jo- Big mouth here called that dumb game show and said we wanted to all be on it. Now we can’t cancel.
MG- Oh dear. Well actually it might be fun. I am sure you guys will do great.
Tootie- One other little thing…I signed all of us up. That means you too Mrs. Garret.
MG- What?!
Nat- Look at it this way Mrs. Garret…(puts an arm around Mrs. G) it actually might be fun.
MG- (Frowns)

**A Few Days Later**
Jo- (Looking at a trivia book) Okay who was in the T.V. movie Poison Ivy?
Blair- Um…Michael J. Fox and…and…
Jo- Come on Blair this is easy.
Blair- Oh I don’t know.
Jo- Nancy McKeon. I can’t believe you didn’t know that.
Blair- Well why don’t I start quizzing you Miss Know it all?
Jo- Alright. (Shoves the book into her stomach)
Blair-(Frowns at Jo then flips to a page and smiles) What president is on a one hundred dollar bill? Oh sorry. I forgot you probably have never seen one.
Jo- (Mad look on her face) For your information I have.
Blair- Well?
Jo- Ben Franklin.
Blair- Okay so maybe you have seen one.
Jo- (Smiles)
(Tootie and Nat come walking in)
Tootie- (Has a trivia book in her hands) Come on Nat Mrs. Garret could even get this question.
Nat- Tootie…think about this. This question is about the 1930’s. Do you really think that Mrs. Garret wouldn’t know this question?
Tootie- (Rolls her eyes and walks over to her bed and drops) I think my head is going to burst.
Jo- Well if it does I call your brain. I need some extra knowledge.
Blair- You don’t have any knowledge to begin with.
Jo- (Smiles) Come here Blair.
Blair- (Swallows and Walks up to Jo)
Jo- (Frowns and holds up her fist) See this. How would you like me to introduce this to your face?
Blair- (Steps back) I’ll take a rain check. My face isn’t very social. (Does a scared laugh)
Jo- (Puts her fist down) That’s what I thought.
Nat- Easy you two. We have more important things to do.
Tootie- Yeah. We are going to go on a game show in two days. (Shocks herself) TWO DAYS!!!
Jo- (Rolls her eyes)
Blair- Relax Tootie.
Nat- (Puts an arm around Tootie) Why don’t you take a nice hot shower and then a nice long nap.
Tootie-(Still in shock with her eyes bulging out and is frozen nods her head a little in agreement)
Nat- (Helping her to the bathroom) That’s a girl.(Looks over at Jo and Blair) Guys a little help here.
(Jo and Blair get up and help get Tootie into the bathroom then shut the door)
Jo- She is really tense.
Nat- Oh she will be fine.
(From the bathroom)
Tootie- TWO DAYS!!!!!!!!!
Nat- (Clasps her hands together) So any of you guys up for a game of Trivial Pursuit?
Blair- I guess. We need all the practice we can get. I’ll go get Mrs. Garret. (Walks out of the room)
Nat- You coming Jo?
Jo- Well I think I will stay up here in case Tootie realizes that it is actually one day till the game show.
Nat- (Laughs a little) Good idea.

**The Next Day**
Tootie- (Still sleeping) One day…one day…ONE DAY! (Sits up real fast) Wow. What a nightmare. (Looks around to see that no one is in their beds. She decides to walk downstairs to get some breakfast)
MG- Good morning Tootie. How are you feeling?
Tootie- Huh?
Jo- Well last night you went into a state of shock after you realized that there were two days left till the game show.
Tootie- Oh no it wasn’t a dream.
Nat- Tootie I hate to break it to you but not only is this reality but the game show is tonight. You miscounted. Yesterday there was only one day not two.
Tootie- (Puts her hand up to her forehead and faints)
Blair- (Walks in just in time to catch Tootie) This is really serious. Why is she so nervous?
MG- I don’t know. I just don’t know.
(They all walk into the living room and lay Tootie on the couch)
Nat- Mrs. Garret this is getting serious. Today is the day of the game show and Tootie is worse than yesterday.
Blair- We got to replace her.
MG- I don’t know. It doesn’t seem right.
Jo- Mrs. G does have a point. I mean we can’t just ditch Tootie. It just isn’t that easy. I say we try and cure her fears of stage fright. I mean she wants to be an actress and has been in millions of school plays but she is so scared to go on a game show. There has to be a reason she is so nervous.
Blair- Well if there is a reason I can’t think of it.
Jo- Thank g-d.
Blair- And what is that supposed to mean?
Jo- Well I was hoping you wouldn’t be able to think of anything. I don’t think I can take any more of your brilliant ideas. (says it the way Blair does)
Blair- (Frowns)
Nat- Guys hush up for a second.
Jo- (has an angry look on her face) Excuse me?
Nat- I got it! (Sits there and smiles)
Jo- The game show is tonight Nat. We don’t have time to have a party for ya so would you just hurry up and tell us!
Nat- Okay okay. Well first of all Tootie has been doing school plays. Now who comes to these school plays?
Jo- People who don’t have lives.
Nat- Wrong! People Tootie knows. So all we got to do is make sure that the people in the audience are all people that she knows.
Blair- Nat we can’t buy tickets for Tootie to have a family reunion.
MG- Wait Blair. I think Natalie has a light bulb above her head.
Nat- Thank you Mrs. Garret. Now all we got to do is introduce Tootie to everyone in the audience.
Jo- I think Nat’s light bulb just burnt out.
Nat- It is the only solution.
Blair- Well sure when we introduce her she may know their names but that’s it.
MG- I have to agree with them Natalie. I don’t think it will work.
Nat- You guys got any better ideas? Perhaps we can replace her would any of you guys like to tell her?
Jo- All right, all right I’m in.
Blair- Count me in too.
MG- I don’t think it will work but okay.

**At the Game Show**
(Nat is walking with Tootie. Jo and Blair are in the dressing rooms and Mrs. G is talking to the host)
Nat- (Sees the people starting to come in) Okay Tootie let’s go.
Tootie- (Walking around shaking peoples hands) Hi how are you…Hi! So nice to see you…I am on the show today…Are you related to Mrs. Smith…Oh how nice…Hello my names Tootie…Mr. Kent! How are you?
Nat- Well I think that is everyone. How do you feel?
Tootie- Actually I feel better. Let’s go into our PRIVATE dressing room now. (Says with a huge grin on her face)
Nat- (Rolls her eyes and laughs) Okay. Let’s go.
**Jo and Blair’s dressing room**
Blair- (Lipstick in her hand) Come on Jo. Trust me you will look great.
Jo- You put that crap anywhere near me you are going to need a lot of make up!
Blair- (Puts the lipstick down real fast)
Jeanie- (Opens the door) Hello all! I am Jeanie. I am here to do your make up. (Starts to giggle and flip her hair)
Jo- (Slaps her hand on her forehead) Oh no. I am surrounded by idiots.
Blair- (Gives Jo a frown then looks over at Jeanie and smiles) Jeanie…(Puts an arm around her and smiles) I think I have got this under control…the two girls next door might need some make up (smiles)
Jeanie- (Gives a sad pouting look on her face) But I wanted to put make up on you guys…alright I can see when I am not wanted…(opens the door and is about to walk out but turns around and says) Oh and by the way you are wearing too much make up blonde.
Jo- (Laughs a little) I guess she put you in your place Blair. (Starts laughing harder)
Blair- Jo come here…(Jo walks up to her. Blair quickly grabs some lipstick and smears it across her face)
Jo- Why you little…(Sees some oil that the janitor left after he fixed the sink and pours in Blair’s hair)
Blair- (Screams) My hair! This is never going to come out.
Jo- (Looking at Blair’s hair in shock) Uh oh. (Starts to giggle) Blair I think you better look in the mirror.
Blair- (Looks in the mirror and screams) It’s…It’s…BLACK! Oh no. What am I going to do? Black is not my color. Oh my…
Jo- (Taps Blair on the shoulder and points to the shower and smiles)
Blair- (Smiles) Thanks.
Jo- Don’t mention it.
Blair- (Grabs a towel and walks into the shower room)
**On the stage**
Host- So tell me Edna…are you married?
MG- Nope.
Host- Are you doing anything around 6 tomorrow night?
MG- Well I usually take the girls out for dinner but I am sure they will manage. (Smiles at him)
Host- Oh in case you didn’t know my name is Theodore…But you can call me Teddy Bear.
MG- (Puts a hand in her hair) Oh my. (Laughs a stupid laugh)
CM- Okay ten minutes till show time.
(The four girls come running out)
Tootie- Oh I am so excited. Aren’t you Natalie? Natalie? Nat?! Uh oh.
Nat- (Staring out into the audience) Ten minutes…all those people…ten minutes…
Tootie- (Taps Jo and Blair on the shoulder and signal them to look at Nat) Guys…We are in trouble (Says it the way she always says it)
I got to go do my homework. I will write more when I am done.

Blair- Oh no. I think I am seeing my life flashing before my eyes.
Tootie- Okay let’s just relax and think. Who says that Nat even has to answer any questions or do any dares?
Jo- Oh come on Tootie. We can’t just leave her there staring. Look at her. (They all look at Nat)
Nat- (Staring into space) Fi…fi…five minutes…
Blair- Tootie she’s right.
Tootie- Maybe we should go get Mrs. Garret.
Blair- Good idea.
(Tootie walks over to Mrs. G)
MG- (Laughing and talking to Teddy Bear) Oh Teddy you are so adorable.
Tootie- (Giving Mrs. G a look of sickness) Mrs. Garret we got a problem.
MG- (Still looking at Teddy Bear with a smile) Tootie can’t it wait till later.
Tootie- Uh…I don’t think so.
MG- Can you excuse me Teddy Bear?
TB- Sure.
MG- (Now looking at Tootie) What’s wrong?
Tootie- Natalie has stage fright. She won’t move or respond to anyone.
MG- (Slaps her hand up to her cheek) Oh dear. (Walks over to the set with Tootie)
Jo- Nat? Come on Natalie. There is nothing to be afraid of. Well I guess there is only one solution. (Puts her hand into a fist and is about to give Nat a punch)
MG- Jo!!! (Grabs Jo’s fist and forces it down) Have you gone crazy?
Jo- Well what else are we supposed to do?
MG- (Thinking) Well I guess we have no choice but to take her off the stage. I don’t think we can do anything now.
Tootie- Here I’ll take her off. (Grabs Nat by the arm) Come on Nat…(Walks off the stage)
Nat- four minutes…
Tootie- (Puts Natalie in a chair) Come on Nat. Just snap out of it. (Gives her a little slap in the face)
Nat- (Looks at Tootie with an angry look with her hand on her cheek) Why in the world did you do that?!
Tootie- (Lets out a sigh of relief) You went into stage fright shock. Can you do the show?
Nat-Of course I can. I am as calm as the ocean.
Tootie- Nat…there are waves out there turning over boats. No one is even allowed on the beach.
Nat- (Laughs a little) Well I can handle it. Trust me.
CM- Two minutes till showtime!
Tootie- Come on lets go.
(They walk onto the stage)
CM- One minute till showtime!
Jo- Wow what did you do to calm her down?
Tootie- I hit her.
Jo- (Looks over at Mrs. G) See I told you that was the only solution.
MG- (Blushes of embarrassment)
CM- And we are on in five four (holds up three fingers then two then one and then puts his hand down)
All five- (Looking at each other and smiling)
(While the host or Teddy Bear is talking the five of them are whispering to each other)
Jo- (Whispers to Blair) Poison Ivy Nancy McKeon and Michael J. Fox.
Blair- (Looks at her with a frown) Turn blue.
Nat- You okay Tootie?
Tootie- I’m okay. But my stomach isn’t. (Holds her stomach and gives a sour look)
MG- (Staring at Teddy Bear) Isn’t he wonderful?
Jo- (Looks over at Mrs. G and rolls her eyes)
TB- Well now it’s time to meet the contestants…
Nat- Good luck you guys.

TB- Our contestants for today are the blue team made up of Matt, Terry, Chris, and Maggie. (Audience Cheers) and on the red team are Edna (winks at her), Jo, Blair, Tootie, and Natalie. (Audience cheers) (Teddy talks to the blue team and then walks over to the five of them and starts to ask some questions) Now Edna I understand that you own your own store?
MG- (Smiles) That’s right. It is called Edna’s Edibles…
Nat- (Interupts Mrs. G) That’s Edna’s Edibles at 328 Verona St. Peekskill New York. It is open from 8am to 9pm so come on down and…
Tootie- (Elbows Nat)
Nat- Ow! What is up with you today? (Looks out at the audience who is just sitting there staring at them) Oh. (gives a weak laugh and blushes) Sorry.
TB- As I was saying I hear that you four lovely women work at this store, too.
Jo- Yup. Oh and Blair does, too. (Audience laughs along with Nat, Tootie, and Mrs. G)
Blair- Well we don’t even want to get into her. You wouldn’t believe what she wears. You know that when we first met Nat down there almost asked her to the fall dance. (Audience laughs again)
Jo- Yeah well I could think of a million things to say about Blair but I don’t think that the audience out there watching this on TV would want to go deaf because of all that bleeping out. (Looks over at Blair and gives a smile)
(Blair and Jo keep arguing for another five minutes. The audience is now laughing harder then ever because of Jo and Blair’s bickering)
TB- (Laughs a little) Well we have to take a commercial break. When we come back these two teams will duel it out in a huge trivial contest.
CM- And we are off!
TB- (Walks over to Jo and Blair) You girls are hilarious. You should make your own TV show.
(Suddenly the president of the station comes out)
Prez- You girls are great. The ratings are higher then they ever have been. We want you two for a comedy hour.
Jo- Really?!
Blair- You mean like Sonny and Cher?
Jo- Without the marriage part.
Prez- (Laughs a little) That’s right. What do ya say?
Blair- We would…
Jo- (Covers Blair’s mouth) We have to think about it.
Prez- Okay. Please think fast. (Walks away)
Blair- Think about it?! Come on Jo!
Jo- Blair are you sure you want to try this?
Blair- Positive.
Jo- Well what about those two. (They both look over at Nat and Tootie)
Nat- Go for it you guys.
Tootie- (Sad look on her face) Yeah go for it.
Jo- Aw Tootie come on. (Puts an arm around her) Don’t forget that shows have guest stars. (Smiles)
Tootie- (Huge Smile) Really?! (Hugs Jo) Thanks Jo!
MG- This is so exciting.
CM- And we are back on in…
Jo- Oh geeze I forgot about this.
TB- And we are back with the red team and the blue team. Now it is time for the trivial showdown. Are you teams ready?
(Both teams nod and say yes)
**Later on in the game**
TB- Well the red team is in the lead. <BUZZER> Oh and that sound means it is the end of round one. Which means that the red team is going to be going on to round two also known as the messy round.
Blair- (Whimpers)
TB- Sorry blue team. But we have some great prizes for you back stage.
TB- Now we have to take a short break but we will be back with Edna (says it with a smile), Jo, Blair, Nat, and Tootie.

As for me I have to take a short break too. Hope you like it so far. I didn’t want to show round one cuz I didn’t want it too long. Well please post what you think so far. I will write more asap.
