Default Already Noticing Episode Cut Scenes on ION TV

I fortuantely taped tv land's airing of PS's 1st episode a few years ago, and already i can see major cut out differences in the episode airing.., some scenes however look different from the one aired in tv land..

there was 1 entire scene cut out on ion's airing that was intact on tv land 4 years ago.. yet im noticing other small additions on the show that didnt air on tv land's airing..

at least the picture quality is better than tv lands airing
but thats troubling to see a lot of big cut scenes and lots more commercial break gaps.. they dont even wait for commercial cues.. they cut out mid scenes.. losing a lot of the great jokes that originally aired, even 4 years ago when it was on tv land..

That's a bummer, I was hoping to record these and make better DVDs.

Come to think of it, this reminds me of the reruns of Wonder Years on ABCFamily... they did the same thing, once blended on dvd though you can't really tell...

I'll just edit them seemlessly, I hope <crosses fingers>.

The picture quality is very impressive, though. The program guide said a 1986 ep and I thought it was a mistake. The clarity looked too good.

So far at least ION hasn't only air selected eps. of this show like TV Land and N@N did when they had Perfect Strangers.

Yeah, that's the trouble with the ION network. I've noticed that when I read the ep guide at a website. A lot of stuff is missing from ION's airing's. It's a shame too. I got interested in the show during the 'Chicago Chronicle' years. It's interesting that they start from season one at the 'Ritz Discout Store.' It's nice to see it from the beginning. However, it's hard to follow the story when so much is cut out. Maybe someone could post video clips of whatever is missing. Just a thought I had.

I'd say pretty much all of them so far.

Actually, ABCFamily does that with a lot of their shows (commercial breaks in odd spots; cutting out entire scenes, especially tag scenes). That's why it would be nice to see a DVD release of 'Perfect Strangers.' That would probably be uncut. It would be the same thing for shows like "Family Matters" and "Step by Step." DVD releases for those shows would be better than the way ABCFamily butchers them.

I haven't sat and watched them compared to the copies I currently have, but would you guys say it isn't worth making DVDs out of these airings?

I thought about mixing and matching between copies that I have, but the quality would be lacking in the added scenes...

And ABC Family also really screwed over "The Hogan Family," too.

Yes me too. I watched the health club episode last night and it is quite different than the 1 that I had previosly recorded. I am disappointed at the amount of commercials and the cutting of material.

My point exactly! I am disapointed with the cuts but I just look over it because I am so grateful that it's on. I'm taping it anyway and I will be buying the dvd's when they come out.

What with that.Isn't this Channel On PAY TV,why is their ads, when your paying for the service.I think the US public and any other Country, should demand their provider to play the full show of every show.If they want Ads included put it after the show for 10 minutes.
