"Regular" Episodes - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

I could make this in general sitcoms, but I Love Lucy in particular is one of my examples, so i'll post about it here.

Is anybody else's favorite Lucy episodes when they were just at home with the every day problems or situations, rather than on trips or any of that stuf.Sometimes the outside can be good, like them in the deli or whatever, but I always miss the "regular: feel episodes when they're somewhere different.

Funny you brought this up.

We had a thread where it was asked if our fave episodes are the "classic" episodes such as Vitameatavegamin and the candy making episode. It seems those "classic" episodes are really the faves of "non-fanatics" those who may occasionally watch ILL.

As for me, I do enjoy the Hollywood episodes for sure. I really do love the normal, at home episodes. For example, LUCY AND THE LOVING CUP is a great episode for me. It is funny from beginning to end. I also love the one where it is the Ricardo's anniversary and they want to be alone but the Mertzes have other ideas.

You're right! "Lucy and the Loving Cup" might be the ultimate in laughs. I smile just thinking of how ridiculous the situation was and that music as the subway continued on! How perfect! When she realized her "bee keeper" bonnet was gone, she started to read the newspaper. Even the passengers couldn't keep a straight face!

It really is filled with one gag after another. It doesn't rely on one big scene, it is fun through and through.

And you are right, that music playing as the subway was shown even makes me laugh.

As Lucy crossed her legs pretending to read the paper is pure

OMG! I am laughing hysterically just thinking of that music! I must be an idiot to still be laughing out loud after 45 years! Good thing I live alone! No one else would understand!

I can hear it STILL! DA DA DA DA... And that episode was on 5 hours ago!

It really suited the scenes as the subway was leaving and speeding away.

I don't live alone but my family knows I am crazy so, they expect it.
