SOME WEIRD CORNER GAS TRIVIA

-Originally Brent Butt thought of Corner Gas as a good "Summer job" and wrote the final episode "I love Lacey" (#13) of season one as a cliffhanger that could could also be a final series ep, in case the show wasnt renewed!
(Or course the show was renewed and Season 2's first ep (The Brent Effect) in effect not only started things up again, but resolved the Brent-Lacey romance......for the time being!

-Brent Butt based his show on 2 things: His childhood in the tiny farming town of Tisdale Saskatchewan, and the premise that, had he stayed in Tisdale, he saw himself as likely spending the rest of his life working as a gas jockey!

-The episode "Rock On" features the song "Capital Cash" by "Fast Exit", a song written by Brent when he was the leader of the Band Fast Exit in his College days!

-Gabrielle Miller's middle name is "Sunshine"

-In Season 3 Brent coined the term "Staycation" to mean a vacation where you dont actually leave home, this word can now be found on several webpages

-Gabrielle Miller who co-stars as Lacey is also a star of the CTV comedy "Robson Arms" and thus is the only woman to star in 2 Canadian sitcoms simultaniously

-Fans of the show might wonder WHY the citizens of Dog River always spit whenever the name of the nearby town of Woolerton is mentioned, Brent based this on the fact that small remote Sask towns generally have VERY unfriendly rivalries with their neighbouring towns!

-The last names of all the main characters on the show, also happen to be the names of real towns in Saskatchewan!
