In episode 4 of Emergency!, Tony Dow plays a motorcycle guy who's been going around looting houses that were evacuated because of a brushfire. He has curly hair and a beard! He wipes out riding his motorcycle and the paramedics are sent to rescue him. As they are tending to him for an injured shoulder, he says stuff to them like "Hey, take it easy man!" When one of the paramedics checks the motorcycle for damage, he finds the bag with the stolen items inside. As the paramedics drive him back, he tries to bribe them with some of the stuff he looted so they won't turn him in. "You guys could use a couple hundred, couldn't ya?" Watching this scene is a real hoot.
So Tony Dow went from clean cut Wally Cleaver to a motorcycle bum who loots houses. I know it's only TV, but it's really quite a shock. Perhaps he needed the money because he spent all his income from the LITB days!

I missed that episode; I didn't become an "Emergency" fan until after the first
season. But what a great inside joke it would have been if Ken Osmond ("Eddie Haskell") had played a cop (which, as you probably know, he was in real life)! |

Seeing Tony Dow in that role in Emergency was nothing compared to him playing a criminal in the true-life movie DEATH SCREAM starring Raul Julia. I believe it aired in 1975. His character was wanting to take the credit for the murder of a woman. He was a low-life criminal who felt he had to make an impression on his girlfriend, therefore, by trying to admit to the murder of this woman, he can impress that girlfriend.
