Default Beaver Joins a Record Club...

I was just wondering if anyone saw Beaver and Gilbert dancing...HAHAHAHAHAHAHA That was SOOOOOOOO funny. For some reason, I had never seen this episode before, so I wasn't expecting it when Beaver and Gilbert were dancing to that music!!!! What was that they were doing with their arms anyway??? That was too funny.

Every time I see this EP I laugh and cringe at the same time.
I mean WOW what a dork the Beaver is. Jerry must look back at this and think did I look that bad?

Ah, I'm glad to know I wasn't the only one cringing. I'm sure Jerry looks back on several episodes and cringes at the sight of them. The bunny episode would be another one.

Thumbs down

"The Record Club" isn't as bad as "Beaver the Bunny" In fact, I don't mind "The Record Club"....."Beaver the Bunny" gets my vote for the worst episode. That and the very bad "The Clothing Drive" The only thing good about "Clothing Drive" is the apperance of "Mike," Beaver's friend, played by Tim Maithison!

In the opening sequence of "Clothing Drive" Do you guys remember what the kids even talk about? Jerry, Tim, and the most ugly, God-aweful looking, homley kid are walking along a sidewalk kicking a can and one of the kids finds a brown hat or something? What exactly do they say? I try to aviod this episode, because it is very very poor, with the one noted exception I stated above.

I agree!!! The Record Club was a great episode, I was just pointing out how hillarious Beaver looks when he tries to dance!!!

I have this ep on tape...It's pretty bad! The only part I actually enjoy in this entire ep is when June acts like a lawyer or something when she is trying to get out of getting the suits back. That's funny! She's like "Who's suits are they? And Furthermore, who left the suits out in the hall in the first place?" and Ward's like "Me..." and June says "Then logically, who should get the suits back?" The boys are like "Hey mom, that was neat, just like those guys on tv" (or something like that) I like that part...but IMO, it's the only thing that ep has going for it.

Oh, and here's a classic pic...

I agree, Beaver kind of dances nerdy, but I think that was intentional, to
add to the character.

LOL! I'm so glad someone agrees with me! I brought this exact thing up last time this ep went around, and said he danced funny and everyone just told me that it wasn't that funny, it was just the way they danced back then. I thought it looked hillarious. I've seen other dance scenes from the early 60s and they didn't crack me up like beaver's moves did! So I totally agree!

Default Re: Beaver Dance's Funny

Beaver might of looked nerdy dancing, but those "hip" records that Wally and Beaver played were kind of nerdy for the early 60's, too. So don't people usually dance accodring to the type of music they are listening to?

Just joking around, Beaver probably would of danced the same to any type of song. It was his unique style, that's for sure. So long as he was having a good time, that's all that counts.
